Night Wings

Money has to be made somewhere, in the Unity, money is made by the Night Wings. The Night Wings are the lordly clan that governs trade and taxes with other lordly clans or representatives for the Unity. This means that they are tightly intertwined with Unity politics, though they lack a lordly title currently. Other noble houses or wealthy individuals are of course free to hire a Night Wings representative to conduct their trading for them, for a small fee of course. Although the core of the clan has strong blood ties, the Night Wings have a large number of representatives working in their name.

Although they Night Wings govern the trade within the Unity, everyone is free to conduct trade themselves as long as they abide by the rules and regulations setup by the Night Wings. Most inhabitants of the Unity of Kirlin abide by their rules but it is not unknown for rogue traders to be identified. Once a rogue trader is identified the Night Wings will raid the base of operations, sometimes together with the Sanguine Mist, and seize their "illegal" gains.

Structure

Unlike most clans in the Unity, the Night Wings aren't really ruled by one head of the clan. Their public leader, Quinter Hearthvein is considered the ruler to the public and should be seen as the most influential figure in the clan. The clan is however, ruled by the Power Four, aka the direct descendants of the original clan founder.

Besides the Power Four, there are some nobles affiliated with the clan. The vast amount of associates related to the clan comes through contract. Because the Night Wings focus on the performance of their associates, instead of their heritage, it is entirely possible to obtain large quantities of wealth working for the Night Wings even though you were born into poverty. The largest mass of want to be wealthy will however, never make it past the rank of simple sales associate.

Culture

The Night Wings have a cutthroat culture inside their organization. Everything has a price and it is not unknown for members of the clan to disappear because someone wanted another individual in a certain position. Even if you are performing well you will always have to fear for your position, because the Night Wings care little for the bottom performers of their organization. You either go up, or you go out.

Besides the cutthroat politics the Nights Wing are very inclusive where culture and heritage is considered. No race is excluded from joining and showing potential. That being said, friends in high places matter a lot, if those friends share your race it is a lot easier to climb the ranks.

Public Agenda

The Night Wings have been profitting from the war with the Holy Kingdom of Buril because they control the trade with the lordly clans. Because the lordly clans and primarily the Sanguine Mist do most of the fighting, this is easy money and relationship building with them.

Because it is that time, the Night Wings are participating in the hunt with hopes of obtaining a Lords of the Hunt title. Winning the hunt and getting a lordly tile would be beneficial but the way things are going in the world, they don't really need the title.

Assets

The Night Wings have a staggering amount of assets, both monetary and valuable items. It is said that the Night Wings mansion in Yormgundr contains some of the most prized relics and artifacts in all of Elium. With their immense amounts of wealth the buy whatever they need, but struggle to motivate creatures with anything else but wealth.

If there is blood, there is money.
