Kingdom of Signium
The Kingdom of Signium is a ruled by King Adeland Oliar Theor Signium and his wife Queen Eloise Lines Oriel Signium. Under their rule, the kingdom has not made any significant progress. Originally the kingdom was a prosperous country, but it's rapid expansion caught up with it. Attempting to stabilize the country has taken many years and even now there are frequent, albeit small, rebellions. These are quickly quashed by the king and his generals after which most of the population falls in line and hopes for better times to come.
The kingdom has two sides to life, the loyal nobility that is on good term with the royal family live good lives. The great cities of the kingdom are grandiose, filled with art, poetry and learning. However those that do not live in the small upper circle suffer from frequent lack of food and other basic supplies. Tolls and taxes are harsh on the populace and seemingly only serve to keep the elite of the kingdom alive.
Besides internal struggles the kingdom also frequently suffers raids from the denizens of the Plains of Grahaul. The king has used the attacks to great effect to rally the populace under one banner against a common enemy. He's even managed to strike very beneficial deals with the Dwarven Kingdom of Ustril to battle the raiders together. The deals provide the kingdom with much needed supplies and equipment but they have to spend manpower fighting on the plains.
The climate in the kingdom is a cold and large swathes of land are covered by tundra's unfit for the large scale cultivation of crops. This does not mean that nobody lives on the tundra's, in fact the small tundra villages breed some of the strongest inhabitants of the kingdom. The small villages mostly self organize their defenses against the raiders from the plain because they do not expect any backup for the kingdom.

The kingdom has recently had favorably dealing with the Ferian Dynasty across the sea to the south. The deals should also provide the kingdom with some much needed supplies and luxury goods to please the general populace.
Besides the supply deal with the Dwarven Kingdom of Ustril, the kingdom has been trying to make a deal for the Dwarven Kingdom's crafting expertise. King Adeland Oliar Theor Signium has realized that he has to address the root causes underlying his poor kingdom and strongly believes that better craftsman can help strengthen their position.
