Goliath

Goliaths in Eldaivyr are towering, muscular beings born from the ancient union of Humans and giants. This race combines the Human adaptability with the physical prowess and size of their giant ancestors, creating a people that are as formidable as they are unique. Goliaths are often seen as living embodiments of the raw forces of nature; their communities are typically found in harsh, remote areas where they can use their strength to survive in environments that would be inhospitable to others.     Physical Description: Goliaths stand between 7 to 8 feet tall, with their bodies built like the rugged mountains they often inhabit. They have thick, stone-like skin that ranges from gray to brown, often marked with darker mottled patterns that help them blend into their natural surroundings. Their eyes are small, set deep into their broad faces, and their hair is typically sparse. Physically, goliaths are the epitome of strength and endurance, with powerful muscles and a physiology adapted to harsh climates. Goliaths are generally considered to be an adult at the age of 15, but may not be finished physically, physiologically, and psychologically developing until around the age of 20. The average expected life span of a Goliath is about 70 years.   Relations: Goliaths maintain a respectful distance from most other races, preferring the company of their own kind or races that share their values of strength and honor, such as Dwarves. They are wary of those they perceive as weak or deceptive, such as some Human societies or trickster races like Goblins. However, once trust is established, a goliath's loyalty is unwavering. Their relations with giants vary, with some tribes venerating their giant heritage, while others view them as rivals or threats.   Alignment: Goliaths tend toward neutral alignments. Their society's emphasis on self-reliance and the survival of the fittest often leads to a neutral good or true neutral worldview, where laws are respected but personal freedom and the pursuit of the tribe’s welfare are paramount.   Lands: Goliaths are typically found in mountainous or rugged terrains, where their strength and resilience can be best utilized. They thrive in high altitudes, often settling in areas that are difficult for other races to reach or inhabit. These lands are chosen not only for their isolation, which provides protection, but also for their natural resources, which goliaths manage and use with great efficiency.   Religion: Goliaths worship deities associated with strength, endurance, and the natural world. Their deities often includes gods of mountains, storms, and animals, which reflect their deep connection to the rugged landscapes they inhabit. Religious observances are pragmatic, focusing on rites and rituals that enhance their abilities or prepare them for the challenges of their environment.   Language: Goliaths speak a dialect that is a mixture of the giant tongue and the Human languages of their region. This language has a guttural quality, with a robust vocabulary related to their environment and lifestyle.   Names:
