Crystal Caverns

Sometimes it is difficult to believe that below the ground we walk, there can be an entirely different world, full of its own wonders. I would have never imagined the magic that are the crystal caverns, I wonder what magic the explorers will encounter, but I also shudder thinking of the horrors lurking down there in the dark.
The Crystal Caverns beneath Gamiantown Sabesbank are a recently discovered cave system that is becoming well known for the large, blue glowing crystals lining the walls and ceiling of the many caves and tunnels. Discovered in 1692 by Jonathan Reetmayer with the only known entrance being in the Sabesbank Quarry, it has not yet been fully explored.   Scholars are highly interested in the properties of the crystals, which have been found to be the same that are found as veins in the Sabes' Marble and are suspected to be the catalyst for the marble's well known magical properties. The crystals are suspected of flooding the caverns with a low magical field of unknown effects. The team of Jonathan Reetmeyer did not encounter any odd phenomena, despite the ever-present lightning, which to their account made it simply more difficult to determine the time passed traversing the ruins.   The exact dimensions of the caverns are not yet determined. First explorations suggest the caverns span several kilometers south of Sabesbank and it branches off into multiple tunnels, with several subterranean streams flowing the same direction as the Lower Camiten Stream on the surface. Some scholars, in a rare attempt of humor, have named these streams the Much Lower Camiten Streams. So far, this designation has not been made official.   The explorer group of Reetmeyer has not retrun from their second expedition for almost a year now. They are considered lost and further expeditions are to be made with relevant precautions and as an effort to find traces or retrieve the lost team.

The caverns sounds like a really cool and interesting place. I also like the quote on top and I'm curious who it's from :)

Oooo, the caverns sound really beautiful. I always love glowing crystals. I'm really curious as to what magical properties they hold. Hopefully people can research them fully soon! :D

The Sabes' Marble contains veins of these crystals so that might give you a hint what they might do. Question is, why are there so many crystals with such properties in one place? Coincidence?
