Nyx
Nestled near the end of the treacherous Swamp of Hags, Nyx is a beacon of modern society and advancement. Starting as a simple outpost of craft workers due to the abundance of natural resources nearby, it soon bloomed into its own town centered on trade, business, and craftsmanship.
While the world has changed, Nyx has stayed a step ahead, even in the face of more modern towns such as Paris or Theogony, although they currently lead the chase in non-magic technology.
All in all, Nyx has stayed a rather boring and simple town, unless you're craftsmen. Even during the heyday of The Border Wars most of the town's forces were used for production rather than soldiers, and the most exciting thing that happens is the yearly Atalantan Winter Crafts Festival hosted in the city.
Demographics
Nyx is mostly an Elven town, full of those who are devoted to their crafts for centuries, but for that same fervor there are also a large number of Dwarves and Halflings as well, and various other races as well.
Government
The city is led by the Senator, as is usual, but it's no secret that the most successful of businesses and crafters truly run the town and the economy, and there is a constant battle between mundane crafters and arcane/adventuring crafters.
Defences
The city has a two-wall system around it and the inner center of bureaucracy to protect the citizens and the records respectively.
Industry & Trade
You can find just about any crafting industry in Nyx, from simple Blacksmithing and Woodworking to esoteric artificing and spell crafting.
Infrastructure
The city has modern systems, and they are rather advanced due to the high number of artists and crafters in the city, who constantly pitch new ideas and improvements.
Assets
The cities most valuable resource is the store of raw materials available in the nearby environment. Between a small yet fertile mine, plenty of quality stone and mineral deposits, and the fertile Swamp of Hags nearby for plant-based ingredients.
Architecture
The city mostly uses dark wood and stones for its various buildings, but a large number of crafters and artisans in the city can create a material clash between certain houses and workplaces.
