Corite

Introduction:

Corite is a purple mineral exclusively found in the ring system of New Rocheron. Corite is the remains of the shattered core of the planet Rocheron. This mineral is both rare and powerful, and using a small piece allows a person to wield the force of magic.

Origin:

When the old Gods watched over Rocheron, they gifted the native species the force of magic. Magic quickly gained sentience and become the 7th old god. Magic coalesced themself in Rocheron's core, turning the planet's formally iron and nickel core into a ball of purple magical metal, which granted the planet a magic barrier. When the Illithid destroyed Rocheron, the core split into tiny fragments and joined the rest of the planet in forming a ring system around New Rocheron. The former metal turned into minerals when mixed with the planet's dust, creating corite.
