House of Regents

The House of Regents is the parliament/senate of the Kingdom Dunwarick. It was founded during the formation of the Kingdom in the year 148 DA.
The House of Regents is made up of representatives from the former kingdoms and the West Wind Council Each District of the kingdom elects 2 Regents to represent them in the house. Usally the govener of said regions will apoint themselves as Regent to save time on elevetions and to speed up voting procesees. 
Due the far-reaching implications of magic and its uses the West Wind Council also has 2 representatives appointed by the Red Dragon the head of the West Wind Council. These representatives are known as Mage Regents. They have the same power and rights as the other Regents but usually reserve their voting powers for legislation or issues involving magic or that could effect the use of magic.In total there 12 representatives commonly refred to as Regents in the House of Regents this does not included the Lord Regents.
The Lord Regents are representatives from the Kings or Queens Court. They are appointed by the ruler of Dunwarick and represent the rulers interest. The number of Lord Regents can change depending on the needs and will of the Royal Court. The Lord Regents usually are members of the Royal court or represent members of the Royal court or different departments ie Military, treasury etc etc. It is important to note the lord regents only have one vote despite the number of Lord Regents, they must as one and unanimously.
