History
After the First war tragedy, the first Gearsmiths, who were originally just dwarven blacksmiths, worked to find a way to better fight against the spells of the elves. Toiling in secret, they discovered that they could make armor with certain gears for maneuverability, then it just came together quickly. Gears were added to other things and soon the first cart was made for the dwarven pony's. A year later and the pony was obsolete. Next came weapons, after a young adventurer came to them for the ingredient for a new explosive called black powder. By 150 SR Gearsmiths were well on their way to being a household name.

To Guild or not to Guild
Gearsmiths are famous in Tamia, but only because of the Gearsmith Guild . While it is not necessary to join the guild, the lone Gearsmith will not be able to have the significance of rank on his own. It matters not if he has invented a new way to breathe, or to never eat again, he will just be a Gearsmith. Some lone Gearsmiths claim the title of level 5 or level 6, but if they can't produce a registry number, then they are just loners with aspirations to greatness.Remove these ads.
