An Auraseer who was captured along with other teenagers by the Vox Tristan to become part of the CIBRG Program experiments. She had a Control Chip placed in her head to keep her from using her Skill. Was rescued by Hawk and Tegan Starsky, and Sam Lilly from the XCGen HQ during the [XCGen Bombing]. She is one of the oldest of the teens who were rescued and is their leader--the most outgoing and personable of the batch. Also had been friends with Sam before the kidnapping.
Ryann grew up in a small town with a close-knit community. Her family, while not affluent, emphasized the importance of compassion and community service. Despite facing financial hardships, her parents instilled in her a strong sense of resilience and a belief in the power of kindness. Ryann's early life was marked by a series of challenges that shaped her into a compassionate and determined individual. She went to street life at 17 when her parents were both killed by the CORPs.
Her education was disrupted when her parents died, cutting short her formal schooling. The harsh circumstances forced Ryann to develop her survival instincts and hone her intuitive abilities, paving the way for an unconventional form of education of street life.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Despite the harrowing circumstances of her captivity, Ryann emerged as a beacon of hope for the other teens, organizing small acts of resistance within the Vox Tristan facility. Her ability to maintain a sense of community among the captive teenagers, even with the oppressive Control Chip, showcased her resilience and leadership qualities.
Failures & Embarrassments
Ryann carries the weight of guilt for not being able to protect her fellow captives (especially Grant) from the full extent of the Vox's experiments. The inability to prevent their suffering serves as a constant source of internal turmoil, driving her determination to seek justice and redemption for their shared trauma.
The traumatic experience of having a Control Chip implanted in her head left lasting scars. The violation of her autonomy and suppression of her innate Skill continues to haunt her, fueling her resolve to break free from the mental chains imposed by Vox Tristan.
Ryann possesses a keen intellect, developed through both formal education and her experiences on the streets. She is a quick thinker, adapting to challenging situations with a strategic mindset. Her intuitive abilities as an Auraseer contribute to her perceptiveness and understanding of people and their emotions.
Morality & Philosophy
Her moral compass is grounded in compassion and a sense of justice. Ryann believes in the strength of unity and kindness, viewing these as essential forces against the darkness imposed by the Triumvirate. Her philosophy centers around the idea that even in the face of cruelty, maintaining one's humanity is the ultimate victory.
The very idea of suppressing individual freedom and autonomy, as exemplified by the Control Chip, strikes at the heart of Ryann's values. She harbors a deep disdain for those who manipulate and exploit others for their own gain, considering it a profound taboo that should be vehemently opposed.
