Paradise Cove

Paradise Cove is a ruined settlement which was once a pirate haven in the middle of the Eghean Sea. The settlement is built on an island with the same name. What made it such an ideal place for pirates is that from the outside of the island you can not see that there is anything build on it. To get into the harbor of the settlement, you need to know where the entrance is to the cove, since it is very hard to spot without being very close to it. This way the pirates where not only able to protect their ships from rough water, but also themselves from being spotted by pirate hunters.

A town of Ill-repute

During its heydays, Paradise Cove was known to be a town of ill repute. Because it was run by pirates it was not a safe place to be. Crime was common, and if people thought you deserved it, there was no justice. Often the only women to be found on the island were those working in the various houses of pleasure. Or those who had come with a husband who sought to set up shop in the town. It was a place for pirates where they could do whatever they wanted, to a degree. Much of the inner part of the island was used for the town. While the outside of the island comprises high cliffs, rising out of the sea.

Locations of Interest

Harbor

The harbour was the first place anyone heading to Paradise Cove would visit. It is a place where loot was unloaded, and new essentials like food and water were loaded on to ships. Every ship docking in the cove needed to pay a fee, which could be done in the dockmaster's office.

Beaches

Paradise Cove has two beaches in its cove. One on each side of what used to be the harbor. People used to come to there often after a hard day of work. Bonfires would be lit at various spots and music would be played. These night time festivities could get very rowdy. Especially when a new shipment of alcoholic beverages had arrived.

Notable Residents

Tillian Grey

Captain Grey was a much respected pirate captain. He became the surrogate father to a young boy named Roban who would later become one of the most notorious pirates in history.

Roban Dreadmask

Roban was known for his wit, charm and his courage. And most of all for using all of those to get out of deadly situations unscathed many times in his life. He later was captured by the Ghynzuan Empire, and managed to charm his way out of an execution, and according to some into the bed of the Empress. His luck ended there as two months later he fell ill and died shortly after. Many believe he was assassinated. The reason why has caused many debates, to which there is still no answer today.
