United Provinces of Tamynia

A large political force, analogous to the Republic of Menestia. The western territories used to be controlled by an array of different nations with a somewhat similar culture. After the (T-M War), which almost destroyed the Realm of Iskangai and exposed the failures of international commerce, the remaining nations unified into a single country, divided in provinces. Now, Tamynia is home to efficient internal commerce and strong national sentiment, as well as the largest navy on the continent. Its five provinces each have a different lifestyle. However, they are all known for their humility and disposition for commerce and technological advancement.

Culture

Southern Tamynians live near water, and the rhythm of boats’ arrival and departure punctuate their lives. Most are merchants or scholars studying in nearby academies. They spend their time in their city’s marbled buildings, trading goods or endlessly pursuing new discoveries. The Age of Progress has definitely set into Tamynia, where arcanists, inventors and scientists now hold a status as highly regarded as merchants and aristocrats. However, no matter the unbelievable amount of wealth that passes through the hands of Tamynian merchants, outlandish displays of wealth are seen as disrespectful. As such, those with means invest in higher quality materials and fund local endeavors, which might explain why the Coral Bay cities are as impressive. Despite those honorable efforts, that hasn’t solved the crippling poverty that still haunts its streets. But most locals try the ignore those darker issues and distract themselves with seafood-filled plates and refined performance arts, which they have a strong liking for. In fact, theaters, opera house and concert halls are a staple of many Tamynian cities around the Coral Bay.
Up north is where you will find the materials that have made Tamynian trade what it is today. The cities and towns scattered throughout the mountains of the Adamantine Range are subject to colder temperatures and stricter rule of law, but enjoy easier living conditions and opportunities, notably in the many monasteries, scholar sanctuaries and conservatories that open their gates to whomever wishes to invest their future there. However, when they are not mining, tending to wild goats or working on their latest project, the locals can be found gambling at the local tavern and drinking barley wine, eating smoked fish, hiking up the peaks of the range or bathing in the hot springs hidden nearby.
