Pakaru

The Pakaru are the front-line protectors of Avariel against The Miscreant Disgracers. The Order of the Apocalypseis charged with keeping the lands safe from these vile hoards.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Besides being taller than any of their other avian cousins, they also are broader across the chest. Their enormous wings, when folded, are visibly taller than them and go down almost to the ground, giving a nearly cape-like appearance.
Pakaru can appear very intimidating with their large size, dark feathers, and bald head, accentuating their razor-sharp beaks.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Because of their nature they actually prefer rotten meat over fresh. They also prefer to eat it raw.
There have even been stories that they will even eat the undead.

Behaviour

Pakaru have a natural hatred for the undead. This, in turn as well as their natural senses, makes them excellent hunters of the undead.
These imposing warriors do not fear death and are known for charging in recklessly, especially when it comes to the undead.

Pakara have an advanced sense of smell that allows them to detect decaying flesh within a mile. This sense of smell has made them excellent hunters of the undead.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

They have dark colored feathers with red or grey skin. Unlike the rest of the Aarakocra they do not have any feathers on their head.
