Vorkan

The largest independent city on Obeavos, located on the North Sea. 
Vorkan sprouted up as a trade depot between many of the settlements forming on the norther side of Obeavos, growing in power and influence as trade became larger and more important. From the granite and copper mines near Maksur to the hand-crafted goods of Tyree, and return gems and southern fish from the Selenavi Republic, Vorkan managed to plant themselves squarely in the middle of every major trade route, assisted by the Aarasyl Desert and The Darkwood Forest creating nearly-impassble terrain for any large trade convoys.
Vorkan is run by a Lord of the City, though they are closer to a figurehead than having any actual power. The true power lies in the hands of the Vorkan Council, a 6-person anonymous council made up of politically powerful figures. Carrying out their law is the City Watch, which is known to be fairly corrupt and easy to bribe.
