Clearsky Plains
These broad, rolling plains are nearly treeless but thrive with life. The river Gunmor and its tributaries wind through it, and the storms from the gulfs to the north rage across it, but the Clearsky remains, for the most part, semi-arid and clear. People and bison alike traverse the broad swathes of grasslands.
Inhabitants
Many of the local peoples are nomadic hunter-gatherers who have fostered a close relationship with their horses, living in conical tents of buffalo hide. Others live in small settled villages by the rivers, where they grow "wild" rice, corn, beans, and squash, although they continue to get their meat and hides from bison and elk. The people of the Clearsky are known for their bone carving, beadwork, and paintings on leather. They trade furs and skins to other nations around them in exchange for finished goods. The Black Mountains and Onyx Hills to the south are sacred to many of these nations.
