General Summary

Making our Way Inland, Sprinting Fast, Hydra's Past and we're Temple Bound

Down at the docks, three members of the Deep End and friends bid a hasty retreat as the massive form of the Hydra slipped beneath the waves and the Madame's fleet fired a round of "warning" shots before they to, sunk beneath the waves.
Newt travelled quickly to the West Gate, calling on Thanatos to find out where Diavolo went. Upon arriving, he dropped some shots on a downed skiff that was causing trouble for those still retreating within the city before continuing further from the city's walls. He found a swirling mass of smoke – a mixture of black and gray with eerie green undertones – rapidly eating away at a skeletal frame with unmistakable horns and wings. Seeing his brother dead and taken by the Goddess of Death so quickly, Newt - full of rage - landed on a skiff and took it out, taking a hefty hit in the process. Upon returning to the city, he found Diavolo waiting - having left his drink to answer Newt's call for aid.   The Widow went to the Outer Beach where he saw a vaguely familiar human trapped under a bomb. After getting Beatrice - the clerk at Chaos Reigns - out of harm's way, they both retreated within the city walls. The Widow immediately started swimming and booking it towards the East Gate, where Chaos Reigns was serving as a part of the wall. Once there, the building seemed to be handling itself relatively well, though it was battered and broken, some wood splintering and blood leaking from the cracks.   The rest of the party began moving towards the Blue End Galleon. After convincing Noel to pull back inland, Moira arrived at the Galleon first. Inside, she found Cali desperately trying to convince a group of terrified party-goers cowering under talbes and under the bar that they needed to MOVE. Together, both of them were able to rally the people, reuniting with Ghilani, Rani, and Co. moving towards Cali's Cabana, where they found an exhausted Dr. Valdove defending those who had taken shelter within the cabana. Rani guided the group towards the Bayside District road, expertly identifying enemies and moving the group safely into cover. Ghilani and Moira made their way to Bert's. He's grouchy and seemed unconcerned, lacking any desire to leave his metal monstrosity of a business.

On the Steps of the Temple

Shortly after arriving on the Temple Square, a bright beam of teal light shot up from the Temple, expanding into a dome around the city. A spectral image of the merfolk Goddess of the Sea appeared in the Bay, staring down the Pirate Lord and his forces. The myrmidons still within the city converged and assaulted the Temple, but were held back and defeated.   The Pirate Lord announced his displeasure, but... he can be patient; he'll wait.
Newt skulked like a gargoyle for some time before flying to the Von'Della townhome where he informed Lady Von'Della that her son had fallen in battle. Rani - with Ezra's help - carried an unconscious Zephus to the theater. Marigold seems well enough to dump a bucked of paint - accidentally - on Ezra. Rani then formally met Ezra's mother. The Widow found Chaos Reigns to be a mess, but one of the most valuable possessions (Four, herself) is fine. She thanked the Widow for saving Beatrice and offered a selection from some of her stock (once they clean up). Dr. Valdove invited Ghilani back with her (she could really use a distraction and an assistant again). Perhaps there's something in her work that could help.   Beneath the chaos barrier, the Pirate Lord is held at bay. As the High Priestess cannot attend the Guild Council meeting – bound to channel the chaos of the Goddess she serves – the High Lord extended an invitation to represent the High Priestess at the Guild Council meeting. Aid will not arrive soon enough from the MoonGuard or the Neg'Varos Bay. A swift, decisive counterattack must be planned... if the Guild Council can be convinced to attack at all.

Missions/Quests Completed

Although a full report on the damages incurred by the city and its inhabitants is still forthcoming, the Deep End helped to keep the Pirate Lord's invasion fleet at bay while the High Priestess prepared to protect the city. Now, under the protective dome of chaos, the city waits was the shadowy Hydra lurks in the bay and the floating fortress looms in the distance.
