Úamtnans
The Úamtnans1 are one of the five sapient species inhabiting the Znagrúk Empire along with Gláðs, Hyrríans, Jeihókans and Znagrúks. Most of them live in the western part of the empire.
Úamtants shed their skin like snakes, three to four times each year as children and biannually as adults, elders only shed once a year. Each shedding of skin is considered an important milestone an Úamtnan's life, during which they fast and withdraw from public life, and bury the moulted skin afterwards.
Úamtnants have a reputation for being quiet and reflective, as their culture values being a good listener and shuns small talks.
Úamtnans cremate their dead, and refer to the process as the final moulting.

History
Úamtnants are native to southern Darlaa region of the Múlíat Mountains, where they lived relatively isolated until their territory was invaded and conquered by Gobíl Kóhans. Those who survived the war fled to the Znagrúk Empire, where they were granted new land in its western regions, and have lived there ever since.Culture
