The port city of Dulak, settled along Sernia's eastern shoreline, acts as the region's primary access to the Serasian Sea. Dulak is also home to the infamous Green Wyvern Tavern and houses Castle Dulak, where the Count of County Dulak resides. A Great Chapel to The Creator can also be found here, housing priests and inquisitors of the region's faith.

Demographics

Dulak is home to primarily Humans, with some non-Human races as servants or slaves to city residents. Rumors hold that some other species are hiding among the Human population, especially in the lower class sections of the Port and Market districts. The inquisitors insist they have already caught any such persons.

Defences

A large wall surrounds the city, patrolled by city guardsmen. Two gatehouses sit within this wall - One providing access northwest from the city district and one providing access south through the market. Inner walls divide the port district from the rest of the city in case of sea-borne attack, and a second wall surrounds the Keep district and the castle. A full contingent of city watch operates from the barracks found in the Lower City. Inquisitors can also be found in the city, calling the Chapel their home.

Districts

Several city districts divide Dulak, with each the keep assigning each section specific purposes and construction permits. These districts are the Keep, City, Chapel, Market, and Port districts.

Keep District

The Keep District houses Castle Dulak and homes and services for all of the city's high nobility. Servants to the castle also find residences here. It is the smallest of the city's districts. A second inner wall surrounds the Keep District with only a single gate providing access through the Upper City.

City District

The City District encompasses the entire western side of the city, from wall to river, and serves as Dulak's residential area. Three sub-districts further divide the City District. Near the Keep Gate, the Upper City houses upper-class citizens and lesser nobility. The Lower City, which includes the main road connecting the West Gate to the Market District, houses most of the city's average citizens. Finally, situated along the Port District wall is the Port City - The lowest class section filled with low-class citizens, servants that don't reside with their masters, rogues and thieves, and generally unpleasant types.

Market District

The Market District is, as its name implies, the primary market for the city. If you can name it, you can probably find it here. Shops and stalls of all kinds populate the eastern side of the river, ranging from the most extravagant and expensive in Market Square to questionable and cheap along the side streets and alleyways. You can also find the Green Wyvern Tavern here, next to the South Gate.

Chapel District

Perhaps haphazardly added to a city plan that did not initially include it, the Chapel District is also the most exquisite city district. Positioned along the river between the Upper City and Market, this district consists entirely of a large chapel dedicated to The Creator, accessible from either side. Divine magic flows strongly here.

Port District

Sprawling along the coastline, flanked on either side by Dulak's main wall, is the city Port District. Here, ships of all shapes and sizes come to dock with the city, trading goods and services with the city's merchants or simply looking for a place to rest. A wide diversity of races and cultures once filled the Port, including many elven sailors and visitors from EnRul. However, with the growth of The Creator, only humans and their servants are found here now.

The Port District is also split into 5 sub-divisions along the shoreline, each with its own set of docks and warehouses. Each sub-division is headed by a quartermaster, while the port itself is run by the Port Steward.

Outer City

While technically not a planned city district, the region outside the city walls is still noteworthy. Farmland, mills, homes, and shops dot the landscape and rolling hills of County Dulak.
