More connected as the need to share resources following the Centurai Occupation has left them, once again, needing to rebuild their nations following the apocalypses of the Crises. The AEU has shown remarkable bounce back, something of "we have done this before" and now "we can do it better." Another part of it is they have made a number of overtures to Corporations to settle and develop in the nations of Europe, with the money being spent going right into civil services. Much of Europe still bares the Scars of the Centauri invasions, but in the major cities it is hard to tell what is new and what is rebuilt from WW2 vs what is ancient in some cases. The AEU might be the most Idealistic of the Nations, more collectively bound than the Coalition, actually friendly with each other unlike the VIC and has a shared identity that not even the PAC or the "One Belt Community" can boast. The People of the AEU are multicultural, resourceful and happy to help. National differences still exist naturally but there is less a hostility to it, German being humorless is the bit and everyone is in on the joke. There is still a major source of historical pride, especially in the AEU being able to survive occupation and rebuilt. A person of the AEU spend their school years in their home country before traveling from one side to the other of Europe for holidays and breaks. AEU space program only recently began, and they claim they will have a person on Mars by the end of the decade. English is the language of Business, but any AEU citizen speaks half a dozen language by habit. AEU the biggest problems have been corruption, and street gangs. Corporations money brings a lot of riches to the nation's but also inequality, and many Politicians are willing to line their pockets over helping their electors. The Economic disparity has led to some disfranchised workers to turn to alternative means of wealth, and the gangs battle for organized crime and pulling off heists against corporate and state assets for resources to sell or money to buy things with.
