"The Grey Crags"
The Grey Crags are a narrow range of encircling mountains that surround The Shaba cloud forest in The Sumi Tal-Sha'ba, and contain the only known route, dubbed The Crevice, that connects the eastern Razil Forest below with The Shaba above. Looking barren at first glance, the tops of the crags are indeed covered with lichens with few other plant or animal species. Several rodent species and small birds of prey do call this their place of home. Most dangers arise from loose falling rocks, huge rockslides, extreme temperature swings and lightning strikes.
Due to their composition of mineral rich igneous rocks and relatively unexplored terrain, a few of the brave, or foolhardy, or desperate have attempted to prospect for their presumed mineral and metallic riches. Several streams and tributaries flow down the steep mountain sides and occasional abandoned mines can be found throughout the gentler, more forested eastern slopes. Rumors of copper, silver, gold, and even diamonds and aquamarine are said to be nestled between the rocky cracks and swirling river eddies.
