Fiona Wachter
Lady Fiona Wachter is a significant figure in the Barovian city of Vallaki and a rival of Burgomaster Vargas Vallakovich. She supports the rule of Strahd von Zarovich and believes that Strahd is the key to returning the sun to Barovia.
Fiona took Nikolai Petrorov as a husband. He had to renounce his family name and become secondary to the Wachter line. They had 3 children - two sons Nikolai Jr, Karl, and a daughter Stella.
The party first met Fiona at her residence Wachterhaus. She disclosed to them a fortune told her her by Madame Eva when she was very young.
First, there would be the coming of an outsider to Vallaki, foreign to this land. The coming of this outsider would mark the beginning of a new age in Vallaki.
The coming of the outsider would also bring a great ruin. A purge on the town like none other.
But when the ruin was done, the blood of the outsider would shed sunlight on Vallaki yet again.
Fiona has dedicated her life to seeing this prophecy through.
At their first meeting with Fiona she offered the party a task to win her favor and undermine Vargas Vallakovich. She provided some flasks of a flame-retardant agent and asked the party to douse the effigy of the sun prior to the festival. However, the party betrayed Fiona and provided the flasks as evidence to Vargas Vallakovich instead while concocting a plan to try to play both sides
Fiona Wachter kicked off a coup d'état during the Festival of the Burning Sun.
Fiona Wachter is hostile to the party. The party have dispatched or captured several of her leuitenants while working with Victor Vallakovich to survive.
Fiona was arrested by Strahd von Zarovich ending the Wachter coup. Fiona was forced into the Black Carriage by Rahadin and Orla. The carriage departed towards the eastern gatehouse of Vallaki after the battle in front of the Vallaki Burgomaster Estate.
The party recovered a small pouch which fell from her dress/cloak while struggling against Rahadin or Orla when they apprehended her. The pouch contained a picture locket of her daughter Stella, her gold wedding band with diamond inlay, and 3 tarroka cards assumed to be those relevent to her reading from Madam Eva.
