Das Anwesen

Das Anwesen is a remote estate house/vacation home which belongs to the Wachter family. The party found the deed to Das Anwesen in a secret room off the library of Wachterhaus. There was a teleportation circle in the basement of Wachterhaus which linked to the foyer of Das Anwesen.
The party traveled through the teleportation circle which appeared to be a 1 way ticked. Exploring Das Anwesen the exterior and upper floors were empty. There was a view of Lake Zarovich and Vallaki could be seen far off into the distance. Given the party's knowledge of the general geography of the area determined this to be in the foot hills of the mountains north of Lake Zarovich.
Outside Das Anwesen the party found a small mausoleum with a single sarcophagus for Lovina Wachter and an abandoned chapel to the Morninglord.
Inside Das Anwesen was a spectral organplayer whose pipe organ music echoed throughout the first 2 floors of the estate. The party found a variety of minor valuables and the deed to Wachterhuas. They also found a variety of spell scrolls, herbalism ingredients, rations, brewing ingredients, etc. The party located falsified business records of goods moving through the Arasek Stockyard in Vallaki as well as for purchases made with Cart & Wheel and Waylands Hammer. The party also found scrolls of deceit - alter self, detect thoughts, and Knock in the second floor office. They party also found Lovina Wachters diary there. The diary appears to outline how the Wachter family obtained their nobility in Barovia in service to Strahd von Zarovich. In a room which appears to belong to Stella Wachter her diary showing years of transformation in arcane ability and a deteriorating relationship with Fiona was found. Spell scrolls of animate dead, speak with dead, and revivify were located as well.
Under Das Anwesen is a series of natural catacombs which appear to be the basis for construction of the estate at this particular location. The catacombs wer organized around bolstering the Wachter Cult's ranks with undead minions in pursuit of the coup launched against Burgomaster Vargas Vallakovich.

The party found a variety of treasures and slayed several minions loyal to Fiona Wachter. Vaaz was the foreman of the operation, Helen was raising undead for Fiona to eventually use when attempting to grab power, and Petr was the muscle who would interogate prisoners Fiona indicated she needed more information out of.

The party rescued Muriel Vinshaw from a battle with Vaaz. Muriel had identified Vaaz as someone she knew about, but lost track of 12-15 years ago and had assumed Vaaz, Helen, and Petr were all dead. Muriel flew off in the direction of Bluewater Inn when returning with the party to Vallaki.
