Rearinn

Unique as the only real city of the halflings, this trade port resembles a miniaturized elven town, built with halfling sensibility. The numerous taverns and inns are built at a larger scale to better serve patrons of a larger stature.

Demographics

Primarily a halfling city, with a large gnome population and even a handful of members of the larger races.

Industry & Trade

A good deal of trade comes through the city, headed to or from Aerey. The halflings here enjoy easy access to many foreign delicacies, and their hospitality is well known. They export a range of fine teas and pipeweed.

Architecture

Unlike the southern halfling towns, Rearinn (as well as the other northern towns in tropical areas) consists of wooden houses built up on stilts, in designs inspired by the elves. Structures are still simple affairs, made of interlocking timbers with wooden staircases leading up to the building. They have steep, curved roofs, and are often built as open and airy, with rooms separated by reed screens and blinds. Distinct sections are build as independent structures surrounding a central courtyard, used for entertaining, which usually contains a tree providing shade.

Geography

Surrounded by tropical rainforest, and set near a river mouth overlooking the ocean.
