Semita IV

Semita IV   Located trailwards of Terra, on the border of the segmentum solar the Carinae cluster sits on a stable but circuitious route from the imperial heartland to the reaches of the ultima segmentum. Semita 4 (formerly 392, 10) is the primary planet in the cluster, made compliant early in the crusade and easily turned towards the supply of war material. The systems importance waned in the later years of the crusade as the borders of the nascent imperium grew further and further away.   Relatively untouched by the wider conflict of the heresy, it's somewhat stable warp route to the imperial core gained signifcant strategic value in the retreat to terra. Most loyalists have already withdrawn to the homeworld and the garrisons at beta garmon but a number of stragglers are still in orbit awaiting refit and resupply from the manufactorums and titan yards below.   Traitor vanguard catching up to the loyalists in system have dispatched a number of warbands to blood themselves in the conquest of Semita 4, and are looking to seize the planet intact as a jumping off point on the way to Terra and victory for the warmaster. Loyalist forces, disparate, war weary and now pinned in system know the value of the planet's industry and prepare to sell their lives dearly in the defence. Hoping at least to buy time for the forces already en route to terra, if not the wholesale repulse of the traitor advance here in the cluster.   1st Battle of Semita IV
