Personal history

"Good morning, royal grandmother, royal mother. I trust that you are both well this morning?" Crown Prince Jinhai greeted Empress Dowager Fuschiayan Shenlisa and Empress Nehualu Hanna without fail every morning, as imperial etiquette demanded.   His grandmother huffed, "Hmph!" Jinhai knew exactly what was coming next. "I'll be well when you start thinking about what's really important! Jinhai, you are 20 years old already. You know it is time for you to be married. Why do you keep putting it off? Do you care about your family at all? Why do you even bother to come here every morning when you don't?" The Empress Dowager nagged the Crown Prince about marriage nearly every day.   Hiding his exasperation as best he could, Jinhai replied, "Grandmother, you know that I am too busy to even think about that! Father needs my help. Pirates have been marauding the coast, the Orkrim have been acting up, and bandits have been attacking travelers and caravans on the roads. Father has asked me to lead a military campaign west and north to Lokminto and Okiishi to suppress the bandits. I need to prepare for that. I have no time for frivolous affairs." He tried, for about the 1000th time it seemed, to deflect his grandmother's attention away from his personal life.   The Empress Dowager replied furiously, "Don't you talk back to me, young man! Frivolous affairs! What are you saying? Marriage is the most important affair in a man's life! I have arranged a tea party for the noble girls of the capital next week, and you will attend! Surely one of the girls will get your nose out of your books!"   The Empress tried to soothe them, "Jinhai, we know you are very busy with important matters for your father, but it won't hurt you to meet a few girls, right? Some from the noble families are quite pretty and accomplished, and your grandmother is right. You aren't getting any younger, and neither is your father. It is time for you to think about starting a family."   Jinhai started to reply, "But mother..." when his younger sister Jintu interrupted, "I know the real reason he doesn't want to meet any of them. There's a girl he has been meeting secretly, and she's the one he wants!"   Jinhai threatened his sister, "You keep quiet! I'll have your head!" Jintu stuck her tongue out at him and said, "Blah, blah. You can't do anything to me!"   The Empress Dowager said to Jintu, "Out with it! Now! Who is she!" Jinhai, through clenched teeth, said, "Don't you say a word!"   Jintu blurted it out, the secret Jinhai had held in his heart, afraid to admit, knowing the potential consequences, "It's that stable girl, the little sister of Lady Britta. You know, the one that all the princesses and consorts hate."   Jinhai's mother and grandmother yelled nearly simultaneously, 'What!" The Empress continued, "Jinhai! How can you possibly be meeting her? She is uncouth! Wicked! And she's the sister of your father's concubine! It's impossible!" His grandmother, hyperventilating and clutching her chest, gasped out, "Get out! Out! How can you do this to your own grandmother!"   Jinhai glared at his sister and said, nearly weeping, "Now look at what you've done. Why do you hate her so much?" She shrugged and said, "She deserves it! And they would have found out sooner or later. Now it's out in the open, and you can figure it out." He retorted, "Yeah, maybe. If it doesn't get her killed. Just keep your mouth shut from now on, okay?" He ran out, heading back to his quarters in the palace, worried sick about what would happen to Amalie.

Education

Yixing-Jiumin Jinhai has had the best education that Senyon can provide, and he always has been a diligent student. He is proficient in military history, strategy, and tactics, and the functioning of Senyon's government. He reads and writes Sudkou very well, and can speak some Nodkou and Elvrimkou, as well as even some of the language of the Orkrim. He is an expert martial artist, swordsman, and archer, and can fight proficiently hand-to-hand and with other weapons.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Jinhai began assisting his father, the emperor, by the time he was 14 years old, learning how to lead Senyon's government, make good decisions based on limited information, who to trust and who not to trust and how to discern people's motives and intentions. Rarely has he failed to please his father, and he was named Crown Prince when he was just 15 years old.

Failures & Embarrassments

Jinhai has few weaknesses, but his soft heart for those he thinks are bullied or unfairly accused may be one - especially if the one unfairly accused happens to be a pretty young woman. His infatuation, even love, for Amalie Nilsson has gotten him into trouble with his mother, Empress Nehualu Hanna and his grandmother, Empress Dowager Fuschiayan Shenlisa, and his father, Emperor Yixing-Jiumin Jinsen is not happy about it.

Intellectual Characteristics

Yixing-Jiumin Jinhai is considered by many to be brilliant yet humble, despite being the crown prince of Senyon, though he can be rash, impatient, and stubborn. He is often soft-hearted towards those that are bullied, and disdainful towards social climbers and those he considers fake or arrogant.

Personality Characteristics

Hygiene

Jinhai is generally fastidious about his appearance, as imperial etiquette demands. His many attendants and servants take care of his clothing, making sure it is clean, pressed, and in the best condition. He is a crown prince, and he looks the part always.

Social

Family Ties

In general, Jinhai gets along well with his many younger brothers and sisters, the princes and princesses of Senyon, as well as his other relatives. He is unfailingly polite and follows all of the rules of proper imperial etiquette, as he has been trained; though his younger sisters, especially Jintu can be annoying. The emperor has tasked him with helping to teach his much younger brothers, Jinlea, Jinxong, and Jinhalan, martial arts and reading, and Jinhai enjoys doing so. His younger brothers idolize him.

Social Aptitude

At times, Jinhai is overly bookish and can be shy and socially awkward, especially around young women.

Wealth & Financial state

Yixing-Jiumin Jinhai's wealth cannot be measured conventionally. He has at his disposal all of the resources of Senyon.
