Sudkou

Sudkou is the native language of Sudland and other countries of southern Derkomai, including Koyon, Voatyon, Teiyon, and Rigosland. It is one of the most common languages spoken by the human population of Derkomai, and speakers of Sudkou are found in most countries of Derkomai. It contains elements of the old Earth languages English, Japanese, dialects of Chinese, Korean, and Japanese, and some Germanic/northern European languages. There is considerable overlap in vocabulary between Sudkou and Nodkou; however, there are significant differences in pronunciation and usage, making mutual intelligibility between the languages difficult. Translators are required to ensure correct understanding.

Structural Markers

-yel transforms a noun or verb word into an adjective, e.g "beng" means "ice" and "bengyel" means "icy." "Daky" means "waterfall" or "cascade" and "dakyel" means "cascading."
-dul after a number means "part of," e.g. "yat hundul" means "1 part of 100." "yat samdul" means "one part of three," or 1/3. "yat tudul" means "1 part of 2" or 1/2. "wahtun hundul" means "50 parts of 100" or 50%. "tutun kildul" means "20 parts of 1000."
