The Hidden Treasure Pawn Shoppe
Mostly Junk, But Aptly Named
A long established pawn shop in the Dwarven District of the Platforms. Most of the available goods are worthless to anyone outside the platforms themselves, but the patient shopper can find the occasional useful find. The owner of the shop is Rhiannon Warmbrew, whose mother started the store. He is a particularly short and scruffy dwarf, but kindly and helpful despite appearing morose most of the time. He knows approximately where everything is in the store. Rhiannon lives alone above his store.
Purpose / Function
The Hidden Treasure was built as a pawn shop and remains one now having been passed down from mother to son.
Alterations
The second story of the building was added after the original first story was built. It consists of three large rooms meeting at a small center room with a narrow, wooden spiral staircase. The lower levels have been adapted into three roughly themed areas of goods. One room houses tools, one houses household goods and the third houses valuables.
Architecture
Like most structures on the platform, the Hidden Treasure seems to be held together with spit and hope rather than by skilled construction. It at least sits on the relatively solid foundation of the main platform in the Dwarven district, but the building seems to lean ominously towards the east. In fact the upper level of the exterior shadows the street below. The building is two stories consisting of three largeish rooms connected to a central spiral wooden staircase.
History
A long standing business in the Dwarven district of the slums, it was originally opened by Rhiannon's mother some sixty odd years ago, and then passed on from mother to son upon his death. Though providing service mostly to the poverty stricken populace of the Platforms, it has become known as a place to find a bargain price on the occasional valuable item for those willing to spend the time to search.
