Session 6: Leaving Camp Hope

General Summary

Sept 9, 113

The bounty for Jonas was posted. Godfried accepted the bounty. He recruited Jasper and Andy to help him. They spent the day shopping to ensure that they have the supplies they need for travel.

Sept 10, 113

Travel at a normal pace. They are heading towards Defiance following route 20.

Jasper is serving as the cartographer and provides insights based upon his knowledge of history. His ability to actually draw a map is questionable. Godfried serves as the guide and is able to lead the party through the Wasteland effectively. Andy serves as a scout. He sees another traveler that is also traveling north on the same road. They choose to avoid the encounter.

Godfried then finds them a great place for camp. He tries to teach Andy what it is about the site that makes it a great choice. He isn't sure that Andy is listening. Jasper forages and returns with an abundance of plants including mushrooms, bark and tubers. Andy attempts to cook a meal from these unfamiliar ingredients and the result isn't edible. They simple eat the remaining foraged plants raw and call it a night.

Jasper continues serving as the cartographer and provides insights based upon his knowledge of history. His ability to actually draw a map is still questionable. Godfried serves as the guide and is able to lead the party through the Wasteland effectively. Andy serves as a scout. He sees a feral dog near the road. They choose to avoid the encounter.

Andy finds them a serviceable camp site and this leads Godfreid Terrell to believing that maybe he was listening after all. Jasper again goes out to forage and returns with an abundance of plants to eat. Godfreid makes a good meal with the provided food.

During their rest that evening, Godfreid tells Andy the real reason that they are out in the Wasteland. The party members all agree that no one should be forced to be experimented upon and they all agree that they should help Subject 17, "Jonas"

A bounty was posted for Jonas, which Godfreid accepted. He recruited Jasper and Andy to assist him, and they spent the first day gathering supplies for their journey. Over the next two days, they traveled at a steady pace, covering 40 miles each day. Jasper, acting as the group's cartographer, provided historical insights despite his questionable map-drawing skills, while Godfried led the way and selected ideal campsites. He attempted to teach Andy about choosing good camp locations, though Andy seemed uninterested. Jasper foraged an abundance of plants, but Andy’s attempt at cooking resulted in an inedible meal, forcing them to eat raw plants instead. On the evening of August 11, Godfried revealed the true purpose of their journey—to take Jonas to Defiance because no one should be subjected to forced experimentation. The group agreed on this moral stance, solidifying their commitment to the mission.
