The Drowning at Walsgue

The Drowning at Walsgue was a naval battle that took place at the Gulf of Walsgue. This naval battle was fought betwen the Osivia Empire and the Draconis Empire . It was the start of King Amon Draconis's invasion of Eathlain. Amon had his army build 1000 ships to transport his troops to Eathlain across the Plywin Sea.
When Amon's ships arrived at the gulf of Walsgue one of the dragons Amon had sent to guard the ships was killed by a new type of ballista the Osivia Empire created. This ballista was designed to incapacitate dragons during The Dragon War. King Mordin Lightspell ordered all such ballistas to be sent to the coast of Walsgue. When they attacked the dragon and it fell from the sky, it marked the starting point for the bloodiest battle of The Corrupt War.
Drannor Bryric the naval general incharge of osivia's ships created a plan that he said would compelely catch King Amon off guard. He said to first attack the dragons with the ballistas to cause chaos with the dragons. Then he ordered 2000 of his ships to suround Amon's ships. Drannor understood that Amon's ships were simple transport ships and were not equipped with enough naval cannons. Therefore Drannor ordered his ships to attack the Draconis from out of range of their weapons. Drannor's ships were easily able to destory Amon's ships leaving the draconis troops on the ships helpless. Amon depended on his dragons to help protect his fleet. But with the dragons occupied with the ballistas they were not able to protect the fleet.
With dragons falling from the sky and ships sinking to the bottom of Wondering ocean. Drannor's naval plan was a great success for the Osivia Empire. During this battle 4 of Amons dragons were killed, 500 ships destoryed and over 250k troops were lost at sea, thus the name drowning at Walsgue was given to the battle. Amon's son Prince Argo Draconis was also at the battle, but was able to escape the battle with his dragon and head home to Dragonfall.
When Argo returned home to Dragonfall he told Amon of the terrible news. Amon's reaction would change the dynamic between Elves of Eathlain and the humans of Incendium forever. Most scholars agreed that this battle was the start of the hatred between elves and humans. But after The Burning of Three Cities the hatred would grow to unimaginable levels.
