Old Nissia
In the time before Avlar's, ascent when the Kingdom of Eá-galwen dominated the continent, the city of Helias was ruled by a group of slavers known as the Sultans who formed the city-state now known as Old Nissia.
Mastery of thy neighbour was a symbol of strength to this community as the slavemasters battled for control of the city, often enslaving victims and hurling them into the vanguard of their incursions into Eá-galwen's lands.
These slavers were overthrown during Avlar's conquest, as the city guilds rose up in revolt during a brutal revolution, which led to the forming of the Weavers & Spinners Union 300 years ago.
Now, remnants of the old world still remain - often huge, awe-inspiring architecture built on the backs of slaves centuries ago, which are dotted amongst the oases of the desert and along the coastline of the region.
