Aegistera
estled within the Lower Rhakhis far from civilization lies the hidden valley and village of Aegistera. This idyllic community is centered around a holy site of The Chevalier - a wellspring of healing shaded by an ancient blossom tree. Aegistera is an insular community, rarely mentioned by those within The Dawning Empire and has been visited by very few. The only regular travellers who know the secret paths to this place are a handful of trusted merchants from Hope, the city of Dawn. Otherwise, the people of Aegistera live peaceful, simple lives, free from the weight of taxes or war or strife. Visitors describe the village as being blessed by the Gods. The people of Aegistera are fair, strong and sound of mind - reminiscent of the stories of the Dagnir Sen linked with the early years of The Kingdom of Eá-galwen's rule over the known world. Beyond that, they are also incredibly close-knit. As they work amongst the lush apple orchards and wheat fields surrounding their homes, they are often united in song and cheer, the sharing of a meal being one of the most sacred activities one can do with thy neighbour. Above the beautiful stone cottages, gardens and orchards of the village lies a great shimmering barrier of gold. This divine barrier safeguards the people of Aegistera against the monsters of the Rhakhis Peaks, and protects the valley from the elements. Aegistera is perpetually warm - whether it be a golden sun in the sky beaming down on them or the refreshing, fat droplets of spring rain that falls on the next bountiful harvest. The village rises up the eastern hill of the valley, ascending towards the holy tree and wellspring. The significance of this site is lost to time and is no longer general knowledge amongst those who know of this place.
