Diso’an

The eastern ley line hotspot hosts the city of Diso’an. This city is a convoluted mess of buildings built upon buildings in order to fit as many people near the hotspot as possible. Since there are three companies that each own an equal share of the hotspot, the prices for mana crystals here are relatively low, but they often go out of stock due to the amount of people in the city that are interested in acquiring them. Recently there have been attempts to sell artificial crystals on the black market here, but they are seldom bought due to the unpredictable nature of the artificial crystals. Even with the narrow streets and multiple layers of the city, it is kept very clean since the local government dedicates a large amount of resources to keep all levels of the city inhabitable and clean.   The city has a higher reported crime rate than the other cities in the Arcane Unity due to the scarcity of some wares as well as much evidence being left in the streets often being swept away by the city cleaners before a proper investigation can be conducted.   Every two years the city hosts the Martial Carnival in hopes of being known for other things than just cheap mana crystals and good mages. This event has two major events, the one focusing on endurance and the one where one shows their martial prowess. The endurance tournament puts the participants in full plate armor and bring them out in the desert in the heat of summer where they are to survive for as long as they can manage, the winner is whoever is last standing in the desert without their life having ended. The martial prowess competition is a tournament in which combatants fight in rounds, either alone or in pairs, until only one remains in the tournament to be crowned champion. There are separate tournaments for solo and duo combatants.   The closeness to the Holy domain leads to people being kidnapped or willingly leaving the city for religious reasons after promises of a better life in a temple somewhere.   Inns The Lowly: A very grandiose building close to the center of the city that is frequented by all manner of people since they serve products of a very high quality at a reasonable price. Rumor is that this is where one should go if they are looking for information, but there seems to be no official answer whether that is true or not.   Potokotak: An inn made to look like a very finely decorated desert camp located at the top of one of the buildings in the city. The inside is kept desert-like with the use of a plethora of magic effects as well as tents and silks. The food and drinks are very good, but due to the general aesthetics of the workers uniforms many believe that this is simply a brothel, which they also are, but they do other things as well.   Food Place: A very simple looking inn that doesn’t try to go above and beyond in any way. They pride themselves with just making sure to serve good food and drinks without being extra in any way. This concept has paid out for them since they are the most frequented inn in Diso’an due to their very homely atmosphere and cheap prices, but don’t be fooled by this since you will not be able to find a better prepared meal than here. In the mornings they sell lunch packages as well for workers who didn’t have time to prepare a meal before heading off to their workplace.   Magic shops Grand Academy Reserves: A building to the side of the academy that sells items created by students who want some extra money while studying. The shop is owned by the academy, but is mainly handled by the students since it is them who produce and sell the wares. Inside the shop one can find many display cases containing the items for sale and the building looks like a miniature version of the academy towers that one can see from almost anywhere in the city.   Mana Meals: A humble little shop that specializes in magic items that can help one take their culinary endeavors to the next level. The shop has a very cozy atmosphere and is mostly lit up by some glowing butterflies that fly around in the shop.   Most people in the city know that there are a lot of black market magic shops, but they can’t be found in official records so we are unfortunately unable to list those here.   Traders Tausziz Branch (Higher End Trader that can be found in all the ley line cities): As with all shops in the Tausziz Branch franchise, this one also have a dark blue color scheme and magical fixtures attached to the walls so that it looks like crackles of lightning are traveling along them.   Dune Company: A company that appears willing to buy anything of value that one finds out in the desert and sells most things one could need in the desert to survive. The building is a large tent at the northern gate of the city that always seems to have different people working there. The workers all wear fully covering clothing typical to what one might wear in the desert and it is unclear if anyone holds any higher power within the company or if it is some form of collective ownership.   Misc Diso’an Grand Academy of the Arcane Arts: The largest and most prestigious magic school in the land. Led by Querio Farlight since long before the leylines fell. It’s very common seeing people who have traveled to the city in hopes of finding out how the headmaster of the school has lived for thousands of years while seemingly still being in his youth.
