From Spouter's Vault Dated 1907 Crooked Mile Valley Tavern Melon Announcement
— Tom Melon, Night Shift
Tom Melon, Stable Hand writes: I invested a significant amount of time at Spouters Tavern Tavern working on this order. I snagged the last dozen available from a mail order hardware store in Colorado. The mail order owners ran a legitimate business in downtown Denver. I realized their items sale was a great bargain. Due to the high cost of an entire carton, I reached out to the hardware owner, who reassured me the mailbags were new or barely used. She owned the mail order business with her brother.   She bought the bags from an individual who crafted them during their first year of their mail order business. They bought one for themselves, but they never fully understood how to use the mailbag’s features.’s features. The ghosts they pursued vanished into nothingness, but they seldom engaged with them. The box remained untouched in the corner of their root cellar, collecting dust for several years.    Once the shipment arrived, I placed a mailbag on the card table in our vault room along with the box. The two strangers in the shop, who were both gathering protective gear, glanced at the belt and took the box. They bought all 12 and walked out. I planned to discuss the multi-functional belt with Timothy Lignon.   I knew new individuals were joining a secretive organization that often visits the vault to buy supplies not found elsewhere. Now it’s urgent that I speak with him right away. The power of these mailbags is comparable to having a tank with you on any exploration. If a smuggler doesn’t have good intentions, the potential damage they could cause is unimaginable. The bags need to be sold to a cautious do-gooder. The woman who came in with the man wearing similar clothes asked me about the tunnels. They seemed to know a surprising amount of information about a town they had never visited.

  • 1. Astrolabe Wheel
Works like a fish pole rod and wheel that specifically controls the lure and fishhook. Rotate left and drop the line 2.3 meters for famine protection. Rotate right and drop the line 1 meter for defense. Hook a lip or an ear and drag.
  •
  • 2. Elixirs and Antidotes
This pocket does not come with elixirs or antidotes. Potions will be issued upon delivery of the bag by the individual who knows that solutions will be required for an expedition. The pocket is attuned to the bag owner, and will not unstitch without consent of the owner.
  •
  • 3. Mailbox Knots
Knots clothing and armor can be purchased separately. Please follow the breadcrumbs to Knots.
  •
  • 4. Tomb Key
The tomb key is taught to budge open any locked tomb. There could be consequences for opening a locked tomb, if the contents, creature or corpse doesn't want to be disturbed. The key is too small to guarantee its use for defense unless the combatants are face to face.
  •
  • 5. Lure & Fishhook
The lure and fishhook work together with the Astrolabe wheel to ensure that the hook will reach the target, whether it be food or monster. All fishing pole lines are snag prone. Snagging a monster with a fishing line is an excellent method for increasing tension and making chaos.
  •
  • 6. Brass & Leather Knuckle
The brass and leather knuckle is a favorite feature of the belt system. It can be left attached, so it can't be lost, but it awkward to use in that position. Being yanked off is not a good situation to bring about either. It is best to detach the knuckle, use is sparingly and return it to its proper place.
  •
  • 7. Healer & Astral Hook
The healer and astral hooks snags paranormal floats or to "lift" stolen jewelry that needs to be returned to its rightful owner. Hooking stolen jewelry that is not returned will encourage bad omens to activate
  •
  • 8. Candela Optics
The candela optics works with light and dark to better obscure photographs taken in dark tunnels, caves, keeps and dungeons. It will not work in dawn to dark lighting. For study of daytime objects or scenes it is best to use Black Ichor pens and inks.

Decided after looking over the original 13th mailbag, I asked Mr. Spouter to deduct the price from my earnings to buy it. Like Dr. Quincey I am more of a rational science fellow. It won't be necessary to use the bag and belt's gadgetry, but I know it is an artifact worth keeping. Spouter threw in the one of a kind accessories. Now I have a set to keep for my grandchildren. Or if I should need protection from afar, the belt can be summoned to find me.
