Tallia comes from a family of innkeepers living in the Spine near the Great North Road. At age, 14 while serving in her parents inn, Arrenda Sallin realized the girl bore an uncanny resemblance to non-other than the Zalarite Order's arch-enemy, Empress Atheneis Majara. She approached the girl's mother and was able to strong arm out of her that the innkeeper had slept with non-other than the Lord Yolen Majara and the the woman believed the girl was in fact his child. Overtaxed by her wild and disobedient daughter she agreed to allow Arrenda to recruit the girl into the Zalarite Order.
Tallia, bored with the life as an innkeeper's daughter and ready to run away with the first man or woman who offered her a way out, jumped as the opportunity. Like her famous half-sister, Tallia proved easy to train and has become a redoubtable warrior.

Since leaving her home, Tallia has worked to become an effective warrior. As a youth she threw herself into training. At sixteen, when she was ready for the field she became Arrenda's protege seeing her commander as the ideal war leader. Arrenda ahs helped her to become a deadly and intelligent warrior.
