Storrow
Located a long low lying island in the Pleska River. This is predominately a fishing settlement, but the inhabitants have sidelines in smuggling and river piracy. The town is almost wholly unplanned with a maze like cluster of wooden houses and shacks connected by wooden walkways. Many of the houses are built on stilts to protect against periodic flooding. The largest building in town is the Gorren Premises, the home and place of business of the Corgerian merchant family that dominates the town's external trade. The second largest establishment is the Drunken Goose Tavern, which is rumored to be a center of illicit business.
Demographics
The village is almost entirely inhabited by Northrons with the one exception being a family of Corgerian merchants who specialize in exporting the town's salt fish and bringing in manufactured goods.
Government
A reeve appointed by the local Baron is in charge of local government which mainly consists of collecting taxes and hauling lawbreakers off to the Baron's Court.
Defences
The river provides the village with a natural defense, but the town has no fortifications.
Industry & Trade
The town centers around fishing, the production of salt fish, boat building and basket making.
Infrastructure
The town has a number of somewhat rickety docks and wooden retaining walls around the edges of the settlement to protect from erosion by the river.
Geography
The island is low and flat rising no more than six feet above the level of the river. The island is long a narrow ruining about 2,000 feet in length and never more than 300 feet wide. The eastern end of the island ends in a reed covered swamp and the western end is dotted with scrubby evergreens.
Natural Resources
The river and swamplands around the island are excellent sources of fish and turtles, both of which are harvested for local consumption and trade. The reed banks on or near the the island provide the raw material for the basket making industry.
