The Demonweb Pits
Divine Planar Realm of Lolth, The Spider Queen
Said to have once been the 66th realm of the abyss before Lolth severed the entire realm's ties to the Abyss and sent it drifting amidst the Planescape, the Demonweb pits are a massive realm of unending webs where spider fiends, Drow Petitioners, countless other evil denizens, and The Spider Queen herself at the very top of the realm, dwelling inside an iron fortress suspended on a great net of webbing.
The realm is one of darkness, scheming, and betrayal and backstabbing at every turn and is where nearly all Drow and all faithful to Lolth go upon their demise. A great river of the souls of The Spider Queen's faithful flows freely through the realm's borders, the dark canyons and rocky gorges full of spiders, webs, killers and assassins and all manner of beasts who serve The Spider Queen's schemes. The sky is eternally dark, and the entire realm is bathed in nigh-total darkness that serves to mask the countless pits and craters across the realm, the land that looks so dead and lifeless hidden by the inky darkness.
Geography
The Demonweb Pits are a land of rocky badlands, barren wastelands, and unending titanic webs that all lay below a veneer of inky blackness so complete and smothering that not even the brightest of divine lights is enough to bring light or hope to the twisted lands of the Pits. The land here is marked by craters, canyons, and caves of all shapes and sizes that are united and held together by thick strange of webbing thicker than a giant's torso and twice as strong.
Owing to its origin as a former layer of the abyss, the terrain here is confusing to the point of lethality, the terrain often actively reshaping itself and distorting its surroundings to confuse and lead astray those who enter this realm...the only way to find one's way through this twisted and darkened realm, it is said, is to have the favor of The Spider Queen herself...or, of course, be strong enough to defeat what calls this realm home.
Fauna & Flora
Though all light is absent from the Demonweb Pits, there are yet Flora and Fauna that call the place home...thanks to the blessing of The Spider Queen, all manner of strange plants, trees, and moss grow up from the darkened ground, feeding off the raw fear felt by many who live in this plane and the negative energies that engulf most of the Plane.
Perhaps naturally, the most prevalent Fauna in the Demonweb Pits are Spiders. All manner of shapes, sizes, and types call the Plane home...from the smallest ones no bigger than one's toe to colossal spiders whose legs are as thick as cities and as tall as the sky itself. Though other creatures are known to live here, spiderkind dominates the Fauna found here...though, Demons also have a presence here in service to The Spider Queen herself.
Natural Resources
There are little natural resources that lie in the Demonweb Pits...naturally, the most and perhaps only prevalent resource here is the spider silk that is said to be easily as durable as Adamantine and as flexible as silk. Otherwise, the Plane is painfully barren of most resources.
