The Devonshire Problem - Part 2

Session 15 Recap

General Summary

Bara meets up with her allies the following day and informs them of some leads about the Amaelians during her reading. The party, still uneasy after their run-in with the Devonshire family, decides to head to the Library as a group again. En route, they run into Captain Engelson, who informs them that Orryn Devonshire has enacted a civil suit against them, and is seeking to take them before the local magistrate. She informs the party that they should stay in the local area until the case is heard, and try to avoid trouble. The captain then continues on with her patrol, leaving the party to spend the better part of their afternoon at the library.
Several hours later, having completed their research for the time being, the party starts to return to their homes when they spot someone being accosted in a nearby side road. Sensing something is amiss, they follow cautiously, springing a failed ambush by none other than the thug, Malorek, and the remnants of his gang. The party is able to defeat and capture some of their would-be attackers, though Malorek is able to escape yet again. During the encounter, however, he lets slip that his group had been hired to attack the group, not knowing who they were, which the party relays to the local guards when they turn over the thugs that they had captured. Intrigued, Captain Engelson promises to look into the situation personally before the party finally returns to their homes for the evening.
