Esperia
Esperia sits on the southern coast of Lake Esperia, and supports itself primarily as a fishing town. The citizens of Esperia live most of their lives either on or near the water and, as a result, many of them are accomplished swimmers and boatmen. The strong and regular winds on the lake also mean that Esperia is one of the few places in the Union where sailing vessels are still used, a practice that has interested and impressed the local lizardfolk tribes.
As is common, the native lizardfolk still tend to keep to themselves, but their curiosity about the water vessels used by the settlers, paired with the growing relations between the Union and the native tribes, has led to regular, if infrequent, trade between Esperia and the members of the Halis'allah Tribe and Hess’kik’ik Tribe. Esperia also maintains trade with the people of Haven, who supply much of the lumber needed to build and maintain the Esperian fleet in exchange for regular shipments of the large (and exotic) fish found in Esperian waters.

Government
A town mayor is elected by the populace when the previous mayor dies or steps down. During annual town hall meetings, the mayor can be challenged or removed from office by a majority of the attending citizens, though this has never happened.
