Guide to Build an Artificial Planet

Written by Adcheryl

Rather than terraforming, an Artificial Planet is the alternative way of colonization. It can be done at anytime, and anywhere.

It is good method for wealthy people or private company that want to own a rich-resource system that doesn't have any suitable planet to settle, or to show their wealth over somebody, or just build for fun.

Before working on construction, the guide highly recommend to have nearby asteroid belt - or just build on one of them, as those asteriods contain plenty of resources available.

In case of tools, you might need to call the professional planet creator - like us!

First Method

The following step is an intruction of constructing fully, spherical planet. It could take much time depend on tools we have. However, this is just about framing the planet structure, which does not include power generator, thursters, core stablizer, security system, atmosphere manipulator, and life-support system.

  1. Find the average to large asteroid. Havinf round shaped and within the habitable zone is recommanded.
  2. Build a frame around the asteroid spherically.
  3. Build one stable truss and the other side symmetrically.
  4. Extanding the truss. While doing this, try to keep the center of mass, centered.
  5. After the truss reach target radius, build circular plates. Those circular plates will be used as the settlement.
  6. Spin it. Make sure that the plate are facing to the star.

The construction can be stopped here, and we'll get the first type. Like Binaria, for example, which has less cost but limited surface compare to fully sphere design in the following step:

  • Build another two trusses that must be alignd to each other.
  • Webbing all trusses together.
  • Try adding mass by construct weight, to increase the gravity.
  • Repeat the process until the asteriod is covered.
  • Spin it and done!

Second Method

Instead of building on target body, you can choose to build the external platform first, and then install on the existed body directly. Cheaper, and required less c

  1. Make a movable, functional donut platform, with two or four adjustable beams on inner side (must be aligned).
  2. Moving to a smaller asteroid and grab it.
  3. Adjust it to the center as close as possible.
  4. Build more strong structs to the asteriod, don't forget to frame it in sphere!
  5. Follow the fully spherical instruction.
  6. Done!

Since It consume plenty of materials and may cost as much as trillions per body, therefore the terraforming is still the widely choice.

In which we disagree.

I like your idea on the habitat building and the link to Binaria as well.
