Lumens
Lumens (L) are the official in-game currency of Citadel Nine. They are the lifeblood of the city's Economy, used for everything from buying a street snack to commissioning a piece of Silver Tier Gear.
Earning & Spending
Every player receives a base weekly stipend of 2,500 L from The Beacon. However, the majority of a player's income is self-generated.
- Primary Sources of Income: Completing Beacon Tasks and Player Tasks, Hype-to-Lumen conversion from Streaming, crew payouts, and selling crafted items.
- Primary Lumen Sinks: Housing rent, gear purchases, equipment repairs, crafting commissions, transportation, and entertainment in districts like District 2 and District 7.
Digital vs. Physical Currency
Lumens exist in two forms:
- Digital: Held in a player's secure, Beacon-linked wallet. Transfers are instant and traceable.
- Physical: Withdrawn from a terminal as tangible currency.
Physical currency is a cultural staple in the bars and clubs of the social districts.
Physical Denominations:
- Coins: 1L, 5L, 10L, 50L, 100L
- Bills: 500L, 1,000L, 5,000L, 10,000L
- Chips: 50,000L, 100,000L, 500,000L (Used for major, high-end transactions)
