Player Tasks
Player Tasks are informal, player-issued contracts posted through local boards, Chat relays, or direct pings. Unlike Beacon Tasks , they are not created or enforced by the city's system. They rely entirely on social contracts, reputation, escrow services, and witnesses to function.
Task Structures:
Player Tasks represent the city's dynamic, user-generated content layer and differ from official tasks in several ways:
- Origin: They are created and funded entirely by players or player groups.
- Guarantees: There are no system-backed guarantees. Betrayal or non-payment has social consequences, not systemic ones.
- Flexibility: Objectives, time limits, and rewards are often negotiable.
- Reputation: A player's history of completing or failing player tasks is tracked socially and can affect their ability to be hired for both player and some Beacon Tasks.
These tasks range from simple courier jobs and bodyguard work to elaborate, player-run Events like races, pop-up tournaments, and bar challenges.
