Wulfric Dragonbane

Dragonlord Wulfric Dragonbane

Wulfric Dragonbane was a former Housecarl of Obesfeld turned mercenary. He was primarily active in the year of 1A 5689, where he and a group of four other adventurers defeated the Knights of Black Dragon and were deemed Dragonlords.

History

Early Life

Before Wulfric was born, an elusive Nord merchant got caught in the middle of the Gothai Crusade, where he was stranded in the town of Obesfeld. There, he met a woman named Olivia Grimweld. They would quickly fall in love. However, the Nord merchant would leave Olivia when he was given the opportunity to return home. Olivia was left pregnant, carrying her bastard son until giving birth to him on December 8th of 5663.

Very quickly, Wulfric would be mocked from a young age. Since his father abandoned him, he was left without a last name by Lysandan law. Thus, on legal documents, Wulfric was deemed "cisboren". The name stuck to him. So while his mother was shamed in the city of Obesfeld, Wulfric grew determined to prove himself at a young age. He trained as a squire under Kellerite generals during the later parts of the Gothai Crusade. Once the crusade was over, Wulfric, at the age of 13, impressed the weakened Baron of Obesfeld, named William Kilroy. Kilroy assigned Wulfric to become a House Carl.   Unfortunately, on the very day that Wulfric would be knighted in 5681, the Danens attacked Obesfeld in a surprise. The army of Lysandus was preoccupied with the War of the Dragonlords, so the city stood alone. Wulfric tried to prove himself and protect Lord Kilroy. Unfortunately, he proved too weak, and the Danens killed Lord Kilroy and established their own Jarl upon the throne. Wulfric was given mercy and forced to exile towards Lisanrik. Wulfric thus wandered for 8 years, taking different mercenary jobs in disgrace. During this time, he began to grow curious about the whereabouts of his biological father, however was unable to find anything.

Will of the Dragonlords

The Hunt for Sir Edward

Eventually, he would come near the castle of Feller's Rock in 5689, low on money. He found an advertisement from the Lazy Loafer Bakery at Silver Town and decided to take it. Along the way, he made the acquaintance of Riley Woodhame, Gilliam W. Maydestone, and Slytoff Han. When finally arriving on May 8th, he and the adventurers would stop at the Silver Chalice Inn. While preforming a magic trick with Slytoff, he nearly died. He would be revitalized.   The next day, him and the adventurers would deliver a cake from the Lazy Loafer Bakery while being attacked by a small troop of Black Dragons. Later that night, the Lord of Silver Town, named Henry Foswell, asked him and the adventurers to protect his daughter from assassins. Wulfric obliged. During the attack, he valiantly guarded the door to the young lady, but was knocked unconscious.   Later, Wulfric and the adventurers would encounter acolyte Tequila Cambow and search for Sir Edward. They would travel into the forests of Caleah, where they then encountered Seldwig Lightfoot and fought some spiders. During that time, Wulfric started to embrace the Nordic side of his family, getting more violent with his fighting style than usual, and adopting a Nordic accent. Eventually him and the other adventurers tracked down Sir Edward to Urshlon Tower. Though at first they were defeated by the Black Knights, they eventually would make a comeback. Wulfric would deal a devastating blow to Sir Edward and help Slytoff slay the rogue knight.

Investigating the Black Dragons

Hiding in Urshlon Tower, the party began to investigate the lair of Lady Qenlynn. Wulfric would steal from the room. Then, he and the rest of the party teleported out of the burning tower and landed in Grace's Wonders. They were immediately suspicious of Grace, but left her shop out of hatred of her prices. Wulfric and the rest of the party schemed to rob the place. Thus, later that night, on May 12th, he would stand watch on the roof of Grace's Wonders while his allies robbed the place. A guard would spot him, and Wulfric began to run. Eventually, Wulfric would end up killing the guard to hide his involvement.   Unfortunately, the dead guard's corpse would be discovered the next morning, and the party were arrested. With defense from Riley and Slytoff, the death of the guard, and robbery, were found inconclusive. The party thus would leave Silver Town (after some shopping) and made their way toward Feller's Rock. There, they'd investigate further Black Dragon involvement. Their investigation would lead to the Mine of Dragonpeak, which was infested with Kobolds. Wulfric slew many kobolds in the name of Morganine, but sparred a den mother and some of her eggs. Into the mine, now exhausted from his frenzies, Wulfric confronted Kilroy Mancer and a Half-Dragon, but the Half-Dragon proved to be an ally.   The Half-Dragon Galafred, as a token of friendship and communication, gifted Wulfric a Horn of the Danen. Wulfric would follow the party back to Feller's Rock and helped them defeat a Whispers Bard, named Percival, who had a spell over Lord Wickam. Then, the party returned to Galafred with a wizard named Warder Payne, who removed the curse and restored Galafred's humanity.

Venture into the Underdark

At Cemedri Magicus, Wulfric and the party was requested to venture into the Underdark to recover more Duergar Soul Sand, hoping it could be used to reverse the Half-Dragon curse more conveniently. Deep into the depths, the party fought through a Drider, Choldriths, and Chitines to eventually meet the Drow, who were being assaulted by Duergar troops. They helped the Dark Elves by destroying a Duergar manufacturing plant for the Soul Ash, leading to the Drow to regain control of their region of the Underdark. Thus they returned to the Mage College with a collection of Soul Sand, to which the Arch-Mage, Imin Aldir, used to start creating potions.

The Danen Invasion

Heading down to Kirkwall by boat, the party was stopped by Black Knights and eventually a Danen ship. Wulfric, being part Norden himself, enacted his anger and rage against the Danen. Eventually, him and the party helped rescue Hamill, a sorcerer, from Danen occupation. He would meet a strange ranger, named Hilda Snowladen, who had a family resemblance. She led Wulfric and company up the Dragonscale mountains to meet the dragon Morgesk. Eventually, Morgesk sent Wulfric and company on a task to kill Turot the Two-Headed and claim the title of dragonlords. They obeyed, and Wulfric slew the dragon Turot within 24 seconds with his rage. Wulfric and the party then returned to Kirkwall and defeated the dragon Gorgoth and the dragon priest Charles Sherwood.

The Final Stretch

Wulfric and the party, now proclaiming themselves as the Dragonblazers, traveled north to the city of Ebenwald to claim their titles as Dragonlords. Afterwards, they traveled to Keller's Coast. Wulfric and company uncovered that the Danen were, once again, taking over a Keller city, which enraged Wulfric and got him into a blood frenzy, killing as many Black Knights as possible. Him and the party then escaped the city through the sewers, where they confronted the demon called The Lord of the Chains. Eventually, Wulfric and company defeated a black dragon named Ydrith, and liberated the city.   Then, Wulfric and the party were told by Vivian, the Lady of the Lake, to awaken Beorhtric. Wulfric and the Dragonblazers obeyed, beating the former king into submission. As a reward for their task, Wulfric was gifted the sword Dragonslayer. The Dragonblazers were then teleported to Amagus Tower, where they cut through the remaining Black Dragon forces while King Mortimer fought the armies of the Danen. The Dragonblazers then came to the transformed Qenlynn Millerstone, now a red dragon, and Wulfric began to carve her into pieces with Dragonbane. She would banish him into the Nine Hells temporarily, but Wulfric escaped, and with Gilliam's help, the two vanquished the villainess forever.

As Setinel of the North

After the Battle of Amagus Tower, Wulfric remained close by to King Mortimer, becoming a general in the army of Lysandus. With King Mortimer, he reclaimed Obesfeld and was instated as the lord of the city. Wulfric changed his last name, legally, into Dragonbane in the year 5690. Then, with the armies of Lysandus, Wulfric took the next ten years to drive away the Danen and their forces from Keller. Out of respect, Wulfric would soon be called the Sentinel of the North.   In 5692, Wulfric and Hilda Snowladen, his revealed Half-Sister, traveled to Norden and rescued his father, Bjarke Snowladen, from Orcs and allowed him to dwell within the city of Obesfeld. With that, Wulfric united his family, becoming a powerful clan within the land of Keller. For the rest of his days, Wulfric would be lord over Obesfeld. He created the Knights of Dragonbane, a group of warriors devoted to protecting Keller and slaying malevolent dragons. Living his life well, the warrior Wulfric would pass in 5746. At his funeral, he was remembered for his bravery, and his sword, Dragonslayer, was branded the words "The Sword of Wulfric Dragonbane."
