Oenens

Oenens is a small port city on the island of Myrna within the Sea of Dragoncrest. It is small, a population of only 890 people, of nearly all human folks and some Amazonians. A series of low stone walls divides and encircles the village. Overall, nice and small, not very hilly, and the temperature is Mediterranean, with palm trees and blue skies being a norm around the area.   Frequently, the town is connected to the local city state of Myrna, the Amazonian home city. A two day's journey would lead you to there. But there are a few things to look forward to within the city. For one, it is primarily concerned with the flax trade through the islands, and they gain much of their food from fishing and farming goats.

Demographics

Oenens is comprised mostly of human peasants or slaves, people who lack freedom and serve their masters. There are also Amazonian laborers and soldiers who protect the city, having some reach from the city of Myrna. There are occasional (but rare) Elves and Dwarves found around the city, but they are seen as foreigners from Eiren, where the strange "Dwarf-Men" (or in their tongue, "The Lisanrik") and Kells dwell and live.

Government

Oenens is ruled by a legate from Tallia, named Arokas. Arokas was a previous general for the Tallian army, but he has grown old, and now has been placed in power over the small fishing town. Arokas serves as the so-called "mayor" of the town, being given all the decisions, though he does work with some Madecian advisors.   However, Arokas has to listen to the powers that be in Myrna, the local city state that gives them most of their defense. This involves religion, soldiers, and laws that the Amazonians enforce on the town. Which means that it is often strict, and the Tallian ways of living do collide with the Amazonians.

Infrastructure

There is a marble and stone wall that encompasses the outside of the town's borders, that function as aqueducts as well. This how they stream water into their fields (because they lack rivers) and deal with their sewage. The walls double as defense, keeping barbarians away from the civilized Madecians within the city walls.   As for buildings, the Theater of Dreams is a tall marble structure with an outside amphitheater. It is the most impressive building in the city where acts of music and drama are had. There are also the main docks, where Madecian and Tallian ships trade with the city. The theater and docks give the most money into the city, though it is taxed by the Myrnian government.

Assets

The main stores the Oenensians would shop at are Anthon's Pottery, where they make pots out of volcanic ash imported from Tallia, and the Indigo Ipotane, an inn for travellers to stick around in. A general goods store they do not have, they often have to travel to Myrna to find such goods and transport them back. Some would use the word "poor" to describe this town for that reason.
