Imin Aldir

Archmage of Cemedri Magicus Imin Aldir

Imin Aldir was the High Elf Archmage of Cemedri Magicus in the Kingdom of Lysandus starting from 5600. He served as a master for many student mages of Lysandus.

History

Early Life

Imin was an High Elf born in the city of Diffon in Gaelitia in the year 1A 5539. He was born with a small trace of innate magical understanding due to his race, and could be considered a protege by the standards of even High Elves. At the age of 14, he started his training to become a wizard under his own master and eventually was seen as exceptional enough to be invited to Cemedri Magicus in 5569.   In Lysandus, he did not entirely fit in. The country was in the middle of Queen Dariah's reign, and the view of Elves and Dwarves was still uncomfortable for many humans. Imin, however, had a superiority complex and did not even care for the racism toward himself. He powered through his studies and exams until he could essentially show off any critics on how exceptional he was! He would graduate from his training in 5576 and became a Evocation Wizard. Yet he still stuck around the Mage College and continued to study different types of spells, as well as the properties of moonstone.   As 5584 came around, Imin would be deemed as a Master Wizard and began to train students. Strangely, he took a less aggressive approach to teaching than he did his own studies. That did not mean it was without hints of arrogance coming from himself. By 5590, he was added to the Council of Cemedri and then in 5594, he was elected as Vice-Mage by the elderly Archmage, Merlo Grantus. It would come to pass that by 5600 that Merlo Grantus would die in his sleep. Imin would thus step up to the position of Archmage.

As Arch-Mage of Cemedri Magicus

In the midst of the Dragon Crisis, Imin was forced to send many experienced students to help the armies of Lysandus. Some became adventurers and even Dragonlords. Once the crisis ended, Imin assisted the elderly Queen Dariah in reconstructing Lysandus. Afterwords, he took a very hands-off approach from Lysandan government and tried to focus on teaching more students.   One troublesome student, named Qenlynn Millerstone, would come under Imin's apprenticeship in 5651 at the age of 16. Immediately she proved troublesome, obsessed with draconic lore. Imin tried to teach her humility and patience, but the girl only knew aggression and impatience in her methods. Imin would grow aggressive back to the girl. Eventually, the young Qenlynn would abandon the college at age 22. Imin was glad she left, but grew worried she would spell doom to cities of Lysandus.

Will of the Dragonlords

Still teaching by 5670, Imin continued to be a powerful archmage of Cemedri Magicus. He would elect Warder Payne, an abjuration wizard, as Vice-Mage of the college in 5680. However, as strong as the college was, Imin began to notice the growing power of the Black Dragons. Guilt came upon himself once he learned that Qenlynn Millerstone was the leader of the Black Dragons. He longed to go back in time and change the way he taught her.   Many students became entranced by Qenlynn's leadership of the Black Knights and started to abandon the Mage College in order to become dragoloks. Imin failed to keep the students from turning, once again becoming aggressive in his efforts. By 5689, the Mage College was at an all-time low in attendance.

Physical Description

Apparel & Accessories

Imin wears a Robe of the Archmagi, giving him extra protection for his weaker body against those who seek to harm him. He wears a few strong rings: A Ring of Fireball, a Ring of Counterspell, and a Ring of Protection. He also wears a Necklace of the Stars, which shoots the spell Faerie Fire on charges. Often times he carries the Staff of the Archmage when wandering around the halls of Cemedri Magicus. However, that staff is actually powerless; his real magical focus is a palantir he carries in his hand.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Once, Imin wished to become the greatest mage in all of Eiren. Now that he has become that, his only motive is to teach other students his deep knowledge of the arcane. With growing interest in the Black Dragon cult, he has made it his greatest concern to persuade students not to join it and have them continue study.
