Chapter 10 - The Mystic Calls

General Summary

The Southern Stars got to quick work, ordering to see new property given by Lord Wickam. They found a 1,300 square foot house and were appointed a Housecarl, named John Housesetter, to get them furniture. The night staying at their new home, it was attacked by a Scarlet Scarf named Wulfred, who wished to steal Slytoff's Cloak of Protection. Gilliam caught his presence and captured him. The party questioned him and then stripped him of his goods. Then, Wulfred would be arrested for breaking and entering.   The next day, the party returned to Silver Town to get some business done. Riley and Slytoff would find a private collection owned by a Chuncian man named Morander, who allowed them to browse. Riley would find a copy of "Tales of Yorick the Wanderer" out of interest to find out more on his patron. Reading notes in Dwarven and Elvish, he found notes leading to ideas that the Lady of the Lake was a Dwarven goddess named Vanu-Am. After renting the book, he approached Slytoff and Teq about this information. Tequila told Riley that Vanu-Am was a dubious goddess who lost many followers, but that she was a goddess of time. Riley became concerned that he was being manipulated, but Teq was unsure why Vanu-Am would be interfering with human affairs at the time.   Afterward, the party returned to Gilbert's Wondrous Wands, but found nothing of use. Riley and Slytoff would pick up their harness as well. Then, the party returned to the Silver Chalice Inn and collected their personal items and the Magic Mirror. They would return to Feller's Rock and move their things in. The party then came to a decision: they would go to Brymoor or Miweck. Ultimately, Miweck was chosen to deal with Danen affairs and to meet the Mage College.   Wulfric would buy a painted warhorse, which he named Sigrun, while the party rented some horses. It took a two-day journey to get to Miweck on horseback. Eventually the party arrived. They got a tip from an enchanted item seller named Lerben that the Scarlet Scarves were spotted around the area. The party thus went to Hanna's Alehouse, an inn, to look for any tips. They found an very grouchy owner who did not take their demands (such as letting a horse stay in the inn) very lightly. Slytoff and company convinced her to lower rent cost if they preformed, and she agreed. However, Slytoff's performance, though he did well, went miserably from Gilliam's failure. While that happened, Gilliam noticed Thieves' Cant written near the cellar opening. He warned the party, who all decided to check it out.   The party waited until 1:00 at night to sneak about. They got into the cellar by casting "silence" on a coin to cover their tracks. Gilliam scouted ahead in the cellar, to find some Scarlet Scarves beating up a man in good clothes. They asked the man where he was hiding his slaves, and continued to beat him.

Rewards Granted

Wulfric would gain a painted warhorse, a female, which he would name Sigrun. Meanwhile, Riley has collected a harness for himself so Slytoff can ride around on him. The party also gained their new property, turning it into a nice base.
