Battle of Amagus Tower

The Battle of Amagus Tower was the final conflict of the Second Dragon Crisis. In this battle, the Knights of Black Dragon were defeated by the heroes dubbed The Dragonblazers, while the armies of Lysandus fought the Danen for control of Amagus Tower.

The Conflict

Prelude

Before the battle began, the Danen began to infiltrate the city of Keller's Coast in hopes of gaining control of the historic port city. A black dragon named Ydrith gained control of the city with the Knights of Black Dragon as well. King Mortimer and the Lysandan levies were alerted and tried to regain the city, but the Danen did a sneak attack and dwindled the levies. Fortunately, Mortimer won and rushed into Keller's Coast. The heroic group called the Dragonblazers, however, managed to liberate the city from Ydrith, thus gaining a temporary victory.

Deployment

King Mortimer got news that the invasion of Keller's Coast was a lesser operation to distract the army from Amagus Tower, which was forcefully taken by the Danen. King Mortimer ordered the Dragonblazers to find King Beorhtric to assist him in their battle. Thus, the armies of Lysandus left Keller's Coast and marched toward Amagus Tower. There, Qenlynn Millerstone stood on the top of the tower, now as a dragon, and deployed the Knights of Black Dragon to stop the armies of Lysandus.   At the same time, the ghostly army of Beorhtric suddenly appeared, coming to assist King Mortimer, while the Dragonblazers were teleported into Amagus Tower by the eldritch being Vivian. The battle had thus begun.

Battlefield

The battle was largely on a field in a mountain pass, surrounded by trees on the south and north sides of the mountainous pass. To the west was Amagus Tower, that hung over the field side wedged into the mountains. The Danen surrounded the tower in defense, while the Lysandan army played the offensive in trying to break through the Danen line.

The Engagement

The engagement was very short, taking only thirty minutes at most. The armies of Lysandus at first dwindled, but eventually the ghost army of Beorhtric broke through the Danen lines and split their forces. At the same time, the Dragonblazers climbed Amagus Tower, defeating the Black Knights holding the tower hostage.   The Dragonblazers would confront Lady Qenlynn at the top of the tower while the Danen began to get another upper hand in the battle. Lava suddenly spewed from the fields, and the Lysandans had to stay back. After a minute of fighting, Qenlynn was slain, and the Lysandans pushed back onto the Danen line. King Mortimer led the charge himself with his son Prince Adran, slaying the remaining Black Dragons. The Danen then marched around the Lysandan line and retreated. Thus, Lysandus reclaimed the tower for themselves.
