Venidan Mist (venn-EYE-den misst)
The effects of Kethenica's Gambit produced a veritable litany of undead horrors that now prowl the blasted realm of Venidon, many of which have escaped the Grey Wastes to torment the people of Omath.
Among these, one of the more feared
Incorporeal Undead is the Venidan Mist, the result of an undead creature feeding on a Vampiric Mist. While the latter is a living, if abberant creature that feeds upon the body, the Venidan Mist feeds on the mind and spirit.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Appearing as a cloud of fog or mist, the Venidan Mist is an amorphous mass of silvery thread and what appears to be stardust.
Genetics and Reproduction
A Venidan Mist reproduces through mitosis; after feeding to the point that it has completely consumed a spirit, the Mist will rupture in two, each a slightly-weakened clone of the original.
Growth Rate & Stages
Newly-replicated Venidan Mists are considered fully-grown, though they must feed within hours to replenish the loss from their replication.
Ecology and Habitats
Dietary Needs and Habits
The Venidan Mist feeds on the will and spirit of its victims, leaving perfectly intact corpses in its wake. Natural predators avoid this carrion, but
Hungry Undeadflock to it as if it were a delicacy.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
A Venidan Mist is capable of detecting life within sixty feet (18.2 meters) and possesses rudimentary greyscale vision to the same range.
