Jerry Hael
Blacksmith of Royton Vasey Jerry Hael
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
For the most part Jerry is in good physical shape. He does however have back and neck problems and regularly flaring shoulder issues because of how he bends over and uses his arm to craft his metalworks.
Body Features
Jerry has an athletic frame, with broad shoulders and a solid mass. He is not especially tall, but his stature makes him appear taller than he is. He has large forearms from his years as a smith.
Facial Features
Jerry has an incredibly symmetrical face that is growing as he ages. There are lines between his brows, crows feet by his eyes, and lines around his mouth that are a symbol of many years of laughing and speaking as most faces have become to show.
Identifying Characteristics
Jerry’s most obvious identifying characteristic is the symmetry of his face. He also has some burns along his arm, from the few accidents he has had while smithing.
Physical quirks
Jerry is ambidextrous- not by birth, but by training.
Apparel & Accessories
Most commonly seen wearing heavy leather gloves that come all the way up to his shoulders, and a apron to protect him from the heat, fire, and molten metal that he works with on a daily basis.

Personal history
Jerry is the second son of Mark and Raven Hael. He was born and raised in the town of Royton Vasey. At a young age Jerry took to crafting and made the decision to pursue that rather than follow his brother to the battlefield.
By 1204 of the Third Age, Jerry and his parents received word that his brother, Gregory Hael, captain of the Dragtonian army, had been killed in battle. While the official report stated that Gregory was outnumbered 5 to 1. The truth of it was that his armor had failed him, and he wasn’t the only one. At least 42 other soldiers had died from failed armor that day.
Not wanting any more families to lose their loved ones like this, Jerry made the decision to become the best smith this world has ever seen.
After fifteen years perfecting his craft, Jerry had achieved his goal and soon after he became known for his solid metalworking. So much known in fact that he has received several requests to join the ranks of the Merchant’s Guild, which he continuously turned down.
Jerry’s reasons for not wanting a membership with Guild where quite simple, he didn’t want to take a profit cut. Not when he had a wife and a two-year son to provide for. His reasons only became more apparent a few years later when his wife Claire died from Hyper Fever, leaving him to raise their young son, Kobi, by himself.
By the late summer of 2A-1233, Jerry was commissioned to forge a hundred thousand swords for the Dragtonian army and its allies by an elf named Tadion Gwarina(aka Túron Avácsh) who said he was doing so the behalf of High King Samuel Tront. Tadion Gwarina told Jerry that this order was to be kept secret until it could be delivered.

Education
Like most people, Jerry’s education was rather common. Seeing that his father was a well-known merchant and armorer, he too learned the trade as well as the forging of different weaponry and tool. Jerry also learned a fair amount about politics and how to read and write from his mother, who is on the council of Royton Vasey.
Employment
Jerry’s employment began when he was a child of about twelve years of age. He basically apprenticed with his father to learn the trade of a smith and even helped managed his shop for which he took over after his father died. Jerry still, to this day, manages the shop as well as his forge.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Like many craftsmen, Jerry is very proud of his work he does with the forge. Though, his greatest achievement came when he forged nearly a hundred thousand swords in record time. Thank the gods for sword-molds, he would say every time he finished a set.
Mental Trauma
Probably the only trauma Jerry really suffered was the death of his brother, Gregory Hael. Though, Jerry turned this heartache into a fire to forge the very best arms and armor and keep anyone else from suffering the same pain
Intellectual Characteristics
Jerry is a bright man. He can pick up on new ideas quickly, and holds intelligent conversations. He prides himself on gathering information, and taking it all into account before making decisions.
Morality & Philosophy
Jerry believes that if you want something, you have to work for it. He works hard at everything that he does, and has passed down that philosophy to his son. He believes that you can only take pride in something you have achieved through work, not something that was handed to you by someone else.
Taboos
Jerry’s main taboo is shoddy workmanship. He takes great pride in his work, and blames the death of his brother on faulty armor, and thus on shoddy workmanship. He views it as laziness and negligence, and refuses to let that infiltrate his own work.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Jerry’s two main motivations are to care for his son and to do the best work that he can do. The two are luckily tied together- the work that he does as a smith allows him to give his son a good life.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Jerry is an extremely skilled smith. He is naturally talented at the craft, but has also put in a great deal of work to be able to achieve the level of skill that he possesses.
Jerry is athletically gifted, much like his brother. They grew up being active, and both he and his brother were very strong. Jerry still possesses a good deal of strength due to his line of work.
Jerry is not particularly people savvy. He gets along with people all right, but generally keeps to himself, besides his family and close friends.
Likes & Dislikes
Jerry has a strong passion for crafting, and has worked for much of his life to be able to call himself a master.
The thing that Jerry loves mot in the world is his son, Kobi, especially after the passing of his wife.
Jerry doesn’t particularly like unnecessary social occasions. He views them as a waste of time. The only thing that could get him to attend was his wife.
Virtues & Personality perks
His loyalty is more than just being able to be relied upon. He is not just loyal to his word and the people around him but he is loyal to his opinion. He doesn’t often change his mind at will and is careful about learning everything he can before he makes a choice.
Vices & Personality flaws
Jerry can be extremely stubborn, and sometimes has a bit of a temper. His loyalty and steadfast personality is usually a boon, but it can lead to him getting stuck in an opinion when he should change his mind about it. He is a patient man, but when he snaps his temper comes out.
Personality Quirks
Jerry has a very intense gaze, and coupled with his way of speaking, has the impression of being able to look into a person’s soul.
Hygiene
When dealing with customers and clients, Jerry tries to maintain a clean appearance.
Social
Contacts & Relations
Jerry had a wide web of contacts through his business. Most of these are business relationships, and his close social circle is limited to his family and a few close friends.
Family Ties
Jerry’s only living family is his son, Kobi, and his mother, Raven. His brother was killed in battle, and his wife died of the Hyper Fever. His father passed from heart complications as well. Because of the losses he has experienced, he values the family he has left, and does his best to take care of them.
Religious Views
Jerry is not an especially religious person. Like his mother, Raven, he goes through the motions, mainly to fit in with his community. He places more value in hard work and personal accountability than religion.
Social Aptitude
Jerry is a likeable man, but he is not particularly socially skilled. He is friendly, and with clients he is engaging. Outside of work, he prefers to spend his time with his family, and is not always approachable to others.
Mannerisms
Jerry’s mannerisms are slow and deliberate. He thinks before he speaks, thinks before he moves, and thinks before he makes a decision. The deliberation of his mannerisms showcases his intensity.
Hobbies & Pets
Most of Jerry’s life revolves around his work and his family. He doesn’t really have hobbies outside of that- he doesn’t have the time.
Speech
Like his mannerisms, Jerry’s speech is deliberate. He is intelligent and well spoken, but never speaks without thinking first.
Relationships
Wealth & Financial state
Jerry is very comfortable, although not wealthy. He grew up comfortably with his parent’s professions, and his own career as a smith and his renown in that area allows him to provide a comfortable life for himself and his son.
