Emblazoned by Mountain Might, Our Iron Will Commands the Fight. As Forged Blades Clash and Echoes Resound, Our Nation's Glory Shall Know No Bound.— The First Crown
The Dryskhell are a family led always by a woman. By extension, the land they governed, Thorgea, was called a queendom. Brothers of the queen were mostly in high administrative or councelling duties, while the sisters were their queens representatives outside the kingdom and next in lines were the queen to die, get sick or else.
The Dryskhell believed that the person that secures the future prosperity of the family, ergo the one that bears the children, was the only fitting person to lead a country. Thus in their entire history, not one king was elected. While sons of the queen weren't outright looked down upon, bearing multiple sons without having a daughter was considered a bad omen, hinting at wrongdoings, unattoned sins and/or other bad characteristics.
As for political views, the entire family was oppressive and governed their country a dictatorial way. They tried to invoke nationalistic feelings in their citizens to move them to wage wars for them and bring more riches to "all", though to no huge success.
To the people, the Dryskhell sent one clear message: We as a collective matter most. Everyone else that does not subscribe to our ideals should, and is, beneath us.
The family promises a future free of worry and danger, only if the Dryskhell Thorgeans would fight for everyone back home at the front lines. And while this promise is not trrusted or accepted by the general population, in public, noone dares to oppose the Dryskhell regime.
Before becoming leaders of
Thorgea, the Dryskhell were the biggest leaders of the mining guild,
Deepslate Syndicate. Due to their excavations and exports of minerals and metals, as well as their secret
Lumicite gathering operations, they became the richest family in Thorgea. They became so rich in fact, that Thorgea depended on their assets to keep the economy running as it was. As a result, the Dryskhell took over the then kingdom entirely and slowly but surely transformed it into their ideal nation.
The involuntary "Disbandment" of the Dryskhell family came with the
Thorgean Liberation, where the quenn
Khourilde Wholemountain Crown, her brothers and her parents were all murdered by assassins of the
Golden Blade, hired by the kingdom
Zvaaraes.
While the Dyskhell were never really a religious bunch, due to their influence and reach, they decided to force upon the citizens the church of
Sha'vier. With her domain of Heaven and Strength among others, the Dryskhell wanted to strengthen the thought of salvation in the soldiers that fought their wars. The fact that the Dryskhell themselves were never really a religious bunch, or rather never prayed to a deity specifically was a secondary fact that was best kept secret.
