(Es ist ein offenes Geheimnis, dass auch Mitglieder der Herzogsfamilie von der Lykanthropie betroffen sind.)
Being the birthplace of Queen Mariana Galene, Duchy Kirkrey enjoys strong ties to the crown. Situated south of The Middlelands it does not hold access to the sea, but being positioned almost at the heart of the Kingdom, Duchy Kirkey has a strong position as a valuable trade partner.
Indeed it exports manifold goods to other parts of the realm and even beyond. The most valuable resource though probably is grain. Figuratively speaking Kirkrey is being called the "realm's breadbasket" and should there ever be a shortage in Kirkrey's granaries, then the realm's valuable stockpiles of provisions would need to be broken in.
