Seraph

"With the blessing of Danu I will not falter. By the power of Sanctum I will not fail. In my stead Her divinity will flourish."
Seraph bear within their souls the light of the heavens. They are lower angels with a touch of the power of Sanctum, either cast into the mortal world on a holy mission or banished by Danu herself. They are a people of otherworldly visages, with luminous features that reveal their celestial heritage, such as their blue tinted skin and piercing white eyes.   A Seraph, except for one who has turned to evil, has a link to an angelic being. That being provides guidance to the Seraph, though this connection functions only in dreams. As such, the guidance is not a direct command or a simple spoken word. Instead, the Seraph receives visions, prophecies, and feelings.   A Seraph sent by Danu on a holy quest will die within weeks if going against her wishes or having completed the quest. The soul returns to Sanctum, no matter if it failed or succeeded, to receive its appropriate reward or punishment. As such, the life of a Seraph is a short one, unless their quest should take a life time to complete. They are however, mortal - at least while on the material plane - and can still die to natural causes should their quest take too long.

Basic Information

Anatomy

A Seraph usually resembles a human, though only since humans are the adopted species of Danu. It is possible, though extremely rare, that a Seraph with a holy quest inherits the traits of another species, such as an Elf or a Dwarf. Should a Seraph be cast out of Sanctum and onto the material plane as punishment, his or her appearance resembles that it had in life.
